Life Update: Where I’ve Been & Why I’ve Been Gone
Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I posted on this blog, but I needed some time off the blog to focus on other things in my life. I wanted to talk about what’s going on in my life for a while now, but as of the publishing of this post I still don’t think it’s the right time to talk openly about it. Instead, I’m going to focus on some of the life events that I do feel comfortable talking about online as well as why I choose to be gone from the blog for a while.

Where I’ve Been… And Why I Haven’t Posted Much Lately
If you are following me on this blog, Essie of Who (EOW), and on it’s sister blog, The Estella Initiative (TEI), then you probably noticed that I’m posting more on TEI than here. After remaining quiet on this blog, I felt enough time passed that I probably should sit down and write some sort of a life update or at least mention why I haven’t posted much lately. The honest truth is that I’ve been busy. My “day job” has occupied my time and mental focus for months. I’ve been stressed out about it, and other things in my life including my health, so whenever I have an opportunity to…

Weekly Sewing & Life Update- April 26- May 2, 2020
April 26- May 2 was supposed to be the last week of Arizona’s stay at home order, but in mid week it was decided Arizona would keep the stay at home order in place and slowly open up buissnesses. Although this was sad to see this (I really would like to see my friends again!) I did a lot of sewing this week.

Weekly Sewing & Life Update- April 19-25, 2020
Although last week I felt meh about staying at home so much, by the time this week I really began to get annoyed by it. Like everyone, I wanted to get out of the house. I wanted to see my friends. I wanted to go shopping without worrying about getting sick. Watching TV got old a few weeks before, but this week I was over it. And I was worried about my job security and worried about how the virus affects my plans to move and my future in general. Basically, this week was a roller coaster of emotions. I was able to do some sewing and almost finished my…

Weekly Sewing & Life Update- April 12-18, 2020
It’s now halfway through the Arizona stay at home order and I’m feeling meh about staying at home so much. I’m normally at home a lot because I work from home, but the stress of what’s going on in the world and that I live with my relative made me feel more moody and irritable than I normally am. Despite this, I realized I needed to go back to focusing on the hobbies I used to have when I was sick with my infection. There are many hobbies I had back then, but the major ones was art, sewing, photography, and recording video of random things for memory’s sake. Doing…

A Life Update: How I’m Doing Amid the Craziness in the World
Hi everyone! Today, you will get two posts in one because, although I didn’t intend on giving an update about how I’m doing during my social distancing, I decided to make one. It is, of course, the main thing on everyone’s mind and trying to keep healthy is something YouTubers and other people I follow on social media are talking about, so I decided to talk about what’s going on in my life right now.

2020 Renaissance Festival Costume Update- Festival Update and Future Costume Sewing and Blog Plans
On Sunday, March 15, 2020, the Governor of Arizona announced a mandate that required there be no gathering over 50 people within the state of Arizona for eight weeks. This was done to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. This also means the end of the Arizona Renaissance Festival for the year. I am very disappointed, but I understand why this needed to happen and complaining about it won’t help me feel better. But sewing can. As I mentioned before in other posts, I had no clue what kind of costume to make and wear to the festival. Since I no longer need to go, I have no need to…

2020 Renaissance Festival Costume Update- I Have No Idea What I’m Making & RenFair Update
EDIT: I wrote this post the week before the Arizona Renaissance Festival canceled the rest of it’s season due to the mandate by the Governor of Arizona to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. Despite this, I wanted to keep the post as-is to show what my plans were last week. I will be writing another post soon about what should’ve been my 2020 Renaissance Festival costume and, if I feel like it, what my feelings are about the closure of the festival. I already discussed my feeling about the Coronavirus and my feelings about the panic associated with the fear of the virus on my lifestyle blog The Estella…

My Struggles and Insecurities With Quilting
Last time I posted here on my blog, I mentioned all the sewing and craft projects I worked on in September. Last month, I also began to try my hand at sewing myself a quilt. The problem is I hate quilting. Except English paper piecing. But other than that, I hate quilting. I had a love/hate relationship with quilting. I love quilts. I love the way they look and the workmanship that goes into it. I also love using them regularly on my bed. The problem is I can’t sew them. I picked quilting up, or tried picking quilting up, over ten years ago. I’m very proud of my first…

I’m Back and Life Update- September 2017
Hi everyone! I’m sorry this blog has fallen quiet for the past month or so. So many things happened in August and September that made it extremely hard for me to write post and finish projects. So, here is a little catch up on everything that’s happened to me lately. If you followed me last year, you probably remember that my posting schedule here on this blog was not consistent and I would stop posting for weeks and sometimes months. This was because there was a family health emergency and eventually a death in my family. Although I dealt with the passing of my family member fairly well, August was…
