McCall’s M5765 Sewing Plans and Fabric Selection
It’s summer and extremely hot where I live, but I’m already thinking of sewing clothing the fall and winter. I usually do this whenever the temperatures are at their hottest for two reasons: To make myself optimistic the temperatures will cool off and to give me enough time to sew myself some new clothes to wear in cooler temperatures.
Even though I talked about my plans to make a coat using a Hilary Duff x McCall’s pattern from the mid to late 2000’s, I wanted to make myself another coat from the pattern collection. This time, it’s M5765.
The pattern makes a cute coat with 3/4 sleeves and a loose fitted body. I used to own a coat like this many years ago, but I outgrew it. So, to have a pattern that I can use to make an accurate coat in my size makes me very excited.
I plan to use this blue cotton from Joann’s Platitude collection as the fashion fabric for the coat…
For the lining, I plan on using this light blue lining fabric I found at Joann’s in the clearance section…
Even though I’m very excited to make this coat, I’m not sure how fast I will make it. As of the publishing of this post, I’m already in the process of making two quilts, one blanket, and finishing a Christmas dress. Even though I’m focused on them, I will most likely finish the Christmas dress very soon. So, I will probably will begin working on this coat or the other Hilary Duff x McCall’s coat I plan to make after I finish the dress.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
