Sketch Book Saturday- Sleepy Little Brownie
After a week off due to the Phoenix Comicon, Sketch Book Saturday is back! Today’s sketch is of my dog, Brownie…
Clicking on the photo will take you to the DeviantART page of the drawing.
Brownie is such a funny dog and, like all the other dogs I’ve owned, she was adopted. I didn’t get her from the pound. In fact, she was a stray, wandering around my neighborhood, and was starving. I don’t know where she came from or anything about her except she was starving and didn’t have a place to call home. It took months to get her to move into the house, mostly because she gave birth to puppies and didn’t want to leave them, but I’m so glad she did!
The puppies Brownie had either have a new home or passed away. I mentioned the one that passed away last year in this post. Now she’s alone, but she’s happy, content, and sleeping better than I’ve ever seen her sleep. I still feel sad because she’s alone, but she seems to be doing ok being the princess of the house.
The sketch I did of Brownie was done in about 30 minutes (I think). She stayed asleep and in the same spot the whole time I sketched. That’s unusual for her so I think she knew I was sketching her so she stayed still for me. I can’t say for certain, but still. It was unusual for her.
Well, that’s it for today’s Sketch Book Saturday! Before I go, I’ll leave you with this photo of Brownie, watching me take photos of my clothes on my dress form. Every time I do this, she looks at me totally confused. Probably because I’m dragging around my dress form, which looks like a person. And it’s weird to drag a person around and dress it up in clothes I made. 🙂
Off to the 2014 Phoenix Comicon!
