Florence, Arizona Home Tour- February 2018- Part 1

Back in February 2018, I decided to go to the Florence, Arizona Home Tour. I wasn’t that fond of going on the home tour that year, but I forced myself just to see what it’s like, what’s changed, and how the home tour was that year.

Although this home tour happened two years ago, I never posted the photographs I took while on tour. There are many reasons why I never posted them, but after letting the photographs sit in my computer for years, I decided to finally write some posts about each stop I went to on the tour as well as everything I can remember from each stop. I don’t remember everything I did that day. Yet, I still remember some important things from certain stops in on the home tour. I’ll talk about what I remember when I get to that part of the tour.

To start the series of posts of the Florence Home Tour, I’ll start with my first stop on the tour: The Second Pinal County Court House. This is not the first time I posted photographs of the court house on my blog. Before the home tour, I took photographs of the court house and other historical buildings on Main Street. Even though I love the way the photographs of the court house turned out, I couldn’t go inside. Since the court house would be open to the public, it was a perfect time to take photographs of the inside of the building.

The Court House was the 12th stop on the tour, but it was one of the closest to the area where attendees of the home tour would pick up their tickets, maps, and anything else they may need to allow them entry to the buildings.

Here is the sign outside the Court House showing it was stop 12…

I never knew why the Florence Home Tour stops are listed in the order they are. As far as I know, the tour stop order doesn’t follow a specific path for walking, but it might be more suitable for the trolleys the town of Florence uses.

Even though I was confused over the tour stop numbers, I was one of the first people to visit the Court House. (At least I think I was) Since I wanted to take photographs of the Court House without anyone accidentally in the way, I made sure to visit it first.

I was able to take a photograph of the front of the Court House building…

A close up of the front entrance…

An even closer photograph of the front entrance and the door…

Once inside, you can see the main stair case…

The stairs lead to the second floor. Although there are other areas open to the public in the Court House, I didn’t take photographs of them. I did take some photographs of the old court room, which is now used for gatherings and meetings…

Here is the view looking out of the court room, past the stair wells, and towards the front of the Court House…

A close up of what the original ceiling looks like…

A close up of the stair case steps…

After I took photographs of the inside of the Court House, I took a few more photographs of the exterior before I left to go to my next stop…

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
