Knitted Lavender Rug Using Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn
In January, I wanted to crochet myself a rug. I found a cute pattern, bought the yarn, and began to start crocheting. The only problem is… this was my first time crocheting and I was very bad at it. After undoing my crocheting over four time, I gave up and decided to knit myself a rug instead.
After weeks of knitting, it’s finally done! This is what it looks like…
Because of it’s size, I had to fold it into quarters in order to make it fit the space I like to take photographs at.
It was very easy to make. I cast on 90 then knitted from the front until it was 40 inches long. Then I cast off and weaved the loose yarns into the rug. The yarn I used to make the rug was Bernat Blanket Extra Yarn in a light lavender color. Unfortunately, I cannot find the yarn on Joann’s website or the wrapper for the yarn skein, so I don’t know what the official name of the color.
I originally planned to put either a backing or something similar to it in order to prevent the rug from slipping around the floor, but after a lot of thought, and searching to see what I could put on the back of the rug, I decided to leave it alone. I wanted to put it on tile or hard wood floors, but I think this rug would work better if it was on carpeting instead. I don’t have carpeting in my house, but I hope to have it one day. Otherwise, I plan on using it as a throw blanket.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
