A Life Update: How I’m Doing Amid the Craziness in the World

Hi everyone! Today, you will get two posts in one because, although I didn’t intend on giving an update about how I’m doing during my social distancing, I decided to make one. It is, of course, the main thing on everyone’s mind and trying to keep healthy is something YouTubers and other people I follow on social media are talking about, so I decided to talk about what’s going on in my life right now.

In an earlier post, I talked about suffering from an antibiotic resistant infection and being cured in 2018. Because of this, I’ve tried to practice social distancing from others since very late last year to avoid catching the flu. I didn’t need to wear a mask, but to ensure I don’t catch a bad case of the flu, I was advised by my doctors I need to avoid very busy places especially during the holidays. I did all of that and I thought I would be able to go places and do things this month… until the Coronavirus, or Covid-19, began to spread.

Currently, I still work. My work requires me to work from home, so I must still work. I plan to work well through the month of March and any sort of self quarantine unless my work decides to let me off work during that time. I am social distancing myself as much as possible. I normally leave the house to pick up mail if I have any and pick up groceries or sewing supplies. I don’t go to many places where people will gather, sans shopping for things I need, and I’m mostly staying at home.

My daily habits haven’t changed much because I know I won’t be able to go to places I normally. I’m trying not to worry about things that are happening right now.

I am trying to blog more, which has been a pain because I’ve been too busy working and helping my family member out trying to find food, medication, and supplies they need. I know they will be fine, but the fact essentials are becoming harder to find due to panic buying bothers me. So, I’m trying to help out where I can by finding them items I come across in the stores I shop at for groceries. I also ran into problems with my YouTube channel because my old video editing software no longer wants to work right, so I needed to find a replacement. I found one, ordered it, and am still waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Until then, no more YouTube videos. Just blogging. And sewing. And cleaning my house. And wondering why I have so many books in my collection I have never read.

After all this excitement and stress, I’m pretty tired and fatigued. Although I am healthy enough to live on my own, work, and do other normal “adulting” things, I need to take it easy some days. My doctor stressed this the last time I talked to them on the phone. Since I’ve been going places and trying to help my family member find essentials, I haven’t rested like I normally do. This is a problem because my body is still healing from the infection and the non cancerous tumors the infection caused, so this added physical movement and not resting is causing me a great deal of physical pain. As of this writing, I was able to find all the supplies my relative needs for now (As well as myself) so I plan on taking some more breaks and even a nap, if I have the time and my work load isn’t as bad as it can sometimes be.

Well, that’s all for now! I hope everyone is doing well and is safe and healthy during this difficult time! Thank you for reading!
