K-9 Cosplays the 12th Doctor
It’s been a few months since the 8th season of Doctor Who premiered and everyone got to see the 12th regeneration of the Doctor for the first time. Although this season isn’t my favorite, I love the 12th Doctor and knew I needed to finish my series of paintings of K-9 dressed as each regeneration of the Doctor. Although I knew how I wanted K-9 to look and wear in the painting, I decided to wait to see if the 12th Doctor has a “quirky” object that sets him apart from the other Doctors, such a fez, umbrella, recorder, and so on. Because of this, I waited until more episodes…

K-9 Cosplays the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 11th Doctor
Well, today is the last day to finish the rest of the K-9 Cosplays paintings and I’m three paintings behind. Originally I was going to finish/post the last painting on December 25th, but the past three days made me realize that might not be possible due to busy, non-holiday related things. So, I decided to post the rest of the paintings at once on the 24th so I can call it done and not be so stressed out about it. Since I’m posting the finished, un-posted paintings on the same day, I decided to make one mass post about all the paintings instead of individual posts about each painting. The…

K-9 Cosplays the Warrior Doctor
Sorry this post is late. I’ve been busy suddenly and… I wasn’t expecting to get busy at all. Ugh. Anyway, this painting was not originally on my list for the K-9 cosplays paint series, not because I don’t think the Warrior Doctor is considered a “Doctor”, but because I didn’t know how to make K-9 look like he is dressed up as the Warrior Doctor. Although it was hard a hard painting, I didn’t want to give up on the idea because I liked the Warrior Doctor too much. It took a while to figure out, but I think I finally did it…. Clicking on the painting will take you…

K-9 Cosplays the 6th Doctor
Today’s painting in the K-9 cosplays series… the 6th Doctor! Clicking on the picture will take you to the devaintART page of the painting. I was a little nervous about painting this painting because I wanted to include the 6th Doctor’s wild coat. The coat is probably the most recognizable part of 6’s attire so I couldn’t see any other part of his clothing be part of the painting. Still, it’s a wild looking coat with plaid stripes of fabric, wild colors, and more. (I used to call it the “clown coat” when I was a kid) I figured it would be a headache to color, so I delayed coloring…

K-9 Cosplays the 10th Doctor
Today’s painting in the K-9 Cosplays series is the 10th Doctor!!! Clicking on the painting will take you to the deviantART page of this painting. (In case you’re wondering… yes I am getting a little tired of thinking up new “attention grabbing” first sentences for the K-9 Cosplays series blog posts. :P) Unlike some of the other Doctors, I already knew what pieces of clothing I wanted K-9 to “wear”, but I had trouble with painting K-9 “wearing” them. My original idea was to make K-9 wear 10’s glasses, tie, coat and paint K-9 facing directly forward (Like I did for the 4th Doctor painting), but after painting and repainting…

K-9 Cosplays the 8th Doctor
This post is kind of late, but eh. I was a little too busy to post it on time. Sorry about that. 🙂 The next painting in the K-9 Cosplays series is of my favorite Doctor, the 8th Doctor…. The 8th Doctor dresses in two different ways, a Victorian style in the Doctor Who movie and in a blue leather coat in the audio series. When I was painting this picture, I wanted give a nod to both costumes. So, I added the green frock coat to represent the Doctor Who movie and a messenger bag to represent the audio series. Although the coat in the movie is a dark…

K-9 Cosplays the 4th Doctor
At last, I finished my painting of K-9 cosplaying the 4th Doctor… Clicking on the painting will take you to the DeviantART page of the painting. I mentioned in my K-9 9th Doctor painting that the whole idea for the painting series came from a joke my dad made about me painting K-9 wearing the 4th Doctor’s scarf and hat. Since this was the first painting idea, the line art for it was painted first, but I didn’t finish coloring it until today. The scarf K-9 is wearing is from season 15. I picked that season’s scarf because season 15 was the first season K-9 was in Doctor Who. (At…

K-9 Cosplays the 1st Doctor
Well, here’s the third painting in the K-9 cosplaying series, this time it’s the 1st Doctor! Clicking on the picture will take you to the DeviantART page of the painting. Originally I thought this painting would be the hardest to create because it’s been years since I saw any First Doctor episodes, but after doing searches online (And looking at cosplayer to see how they dressed) I had plenty of ideas. I saw a photo of the First Doctor wearing a monocle and since the First Doctor is the only regeneration that wears a monocle (As far as I know of) I though it would be cute if K-9 wore…

K-9 Cosplays the 2nd Doctor
Continuing to go out of regeneration and posting order (Sort of), here’s today’s painting in the K-9 cosplays the Doctor series…. the 2nd Doctor! You can fave the painting on DeviantART here. This one is so far my favorite in the “cuteness” department because I painted K-9 playing the recorder. I didn’t originally have that idea when I began to paint this picture, but after working on it for a while I thought it would be funny to paint. As for what represents the 2nd Doctor in this painting, the jacket, bow tie, and, of course, the recorder are all from the 2nd Doctor. It was my first time painting…

K-9 Cosplays the 9th Doctor
Recently, I began to miss painting K-9. I don’t know what brought this up, but it was building for months. The only problem is I already painted K-9, he turned out very well, I’m still pleased with the painting, and don’t want to paint him again. So, I needed a new idea to paint K-9. While talking to my dad about my art badge entry for the Pheonix Comicon 2013, we began to joke about what the badge looked like. (He never saw the painting before) He pictured K-9 wearing the 4th Doctor’s hat and scarf, but, of course, that’s not what the painting looked like. Still, that started me…
