  • Fall Quilt Update- Quilting on the Fall Quilt Is Finally Finished!

    September 23, 2021 /

Hi everyone! I have some happy news! I finally finished quilting the fall quilt! Here’s a photograph of the finished quilt… I’m very happy with the way the quilt came out, but there are some spots I wanted to go back and work on quilting some more. I thought they would look better if I quilted them, but after trying to quilt them, I didn’t like the way they looked. After taking a few days rest, I looked at the quilt and decided I didn’t need to quilt them after all. So, the quilting is now finished! All I need to work on is the binding. I plan on making…

  • Fall Quilt Quilting Progress Update

    September 21, 2021 /

Hi everyone! I finally made a decision about how large I want my quilt to be. After a lot of thought, I decided to keep the quilt the size it currently is. I don’t like the idea of making the quilt larger because I think the fabric I wanted to add to the border of the quilt will take attention away from the panel’s picture. I also plan on turning the quilt into a wall hanging, but I don’t plan on adding the wall hanging sleeves to it for a while. Since I decided what the size of the quilt should be, I started to work on actually quilting it!…

  • Sewing Progress for August 2021- Planned, Work in Progress, and Finished Projects

    August 31, 2021 /

It’s already the end of September and, even though I wrote this post in August, I was on a break from blogging until September. Since my last sewing progress post in July, I finished some of my sewing projects, began (or continued work on) two others, and am currently making plans for new projects. I’m very excited about these projects, so I decided to make a new sewing progress post. I don’t have photographs to show off any of my sewing projects, but I will be posting photographs and taking more about them in future posts.

  • Sewing Progress for May 24-28, 2021

    June 8, 2021 /

During the last week of May, I thought I would be busy with work in the beginning of the week but it would slow down in mid week. Once my work slowed down, I planned to do more sewing. Unfortunately, that’s not how the week went. At mid week, once work slowed down, I began to have adulting problems. These problems, which included some air conditioner and vehicle problems, caused me to focus all my thoughts and energy on them instead of sewing. Since I was so distracted, I decided to compile five days of sewing progress into one post. I won’t talk about everything that happened that week, but…

  • Paris Themed Main Quilt Fabric

    April 1, 2021 /

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I posted anything, but I have been sewing, drawing, and taking photographs. I just didn’t have the time to post anything. I’m going to try to change that this month and I will start by talking about a quilt based off Paris, France. Last year, before there was a rush on fabric due to the pandemic, I bought a lot of fabric from Walmart. One of the fabric designs I purchased has a Paris themed design. When I saw it in store, I liked the design, but I didn’t think I would ever use it. I decided to buy it anyway with the…

April 26- May 2 was supposed to be the last week of Arizona’s stay at home order, but in mid week it was decided Arizona would keep the stay at home order in place and slowly open up buissnesses. Although this was sad to see this (I really would like to see my friends again!) I did a lot of sewing this week.

    April 15, 2020 /

Currently, the State of Arizona is under a stay at home order. The order started on April 1, (Or 5PM March 31? I don’t remember…) and, as you can imagine, that means I must stay home more than I usually do. Since I was at home, I decided to pick up my WIP sewing projects and finish them. I originally planned to start working on my sewing projects on April 1, but after a frightening week of allergies, (I honestly believed I was ill with something else) my allergies calmed down enough by mid week, allowing me to work on my sewing projects.

  • The Quest to Find Fabric for a 2020 Renaissance Festival Costume

    February 27, 2020 /

It’s mid February and that means so many things, including the Arizona Renaissance Festival is open! I plan on going this year, but after years of illness and body weight/shape/size problems, none of my beloved costumes will fit me. I’m in the process of salvaging as many as I can, but to be honest I know I can’t save all of them. I plan to recycle the fabric I used to make the costumes I cannot save, but there are costumes I want to make but do not have enough fabric to make some of the costumes I want to make to wear to the festival. Because of this, I…

    February 18, 2020 /

Well, I’m in the process of making McCall’s 8029 and, even though I would like to make a YouTube video about how I made this pattern, I wanted to sit down and write a post about my sewing progress. McCall’s 8029 is a sewing pattern that makes a cape and belt. I decided to make the cape and belt out of two different fabric designs, using a black and white fleece for the main body and grey fleece for the hood, belt, and contrasting parts of the cape. Here’s what it looks like so far…

  • Sewing & Craft Review- September 2019

    October 1, 2019 /

Hi everyone! It’s October, which means that Halloween is on it’s way. As of this post, I’m still unsure what I should dress up as, but I have a few ideas that will require me to sew something. Since I plan on sewing this month, I wanted to do a sewing and craft review from September. I did a lot of sewing last month, but I also knitted. I plan on writing separate posts about each project this month, but for now I’ll just talk a little about everything I worked on.
