Sewing Vogue Pattern V2004: The Main Lace Trim
Hi everyone! In today’s post in my sewing Vogue Pattern V2004 series, I wanted to talk about the main trim I used on the dress. Since the dress is already finished, I wanted to talk about the lace trim I used and if I thought it was a good choice or not.
Here is the trim I picked to use on the dress…

And here is a close up of the trim…

I purchased the trim on Amazon.com. Normally, my local stores that carry sewing trim are sold out of any trim like this. Since I didn’t want to wait for new trims to come in stock, I decided to purchase it from Amazon.
This is what it looked like beside the Laura Ashley fabric I purchased for the project…

I really love the way the off white/beige color of the lace looks like against the fabric design and its colors! I also love this lace trim in general. Not only is it was way more affordable than anything I could find in stores, it is also really nice to work with. It didn’t fray really easily and laid really well on top of the fabric. It also wasn’t too difficult to sew on. I did have an issue with it: It was not wide enough for the pattern.
The pattern called for a 1 1/2 inch wide lace trim. This one was much less than that. So, I ended up needing to add two rows of it to the dress. Otherwise, the trim sections wouldn’t be right and would look off. In the next post, I will be talking about other ribbons and trims I picked up to add to the main trim.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
