Sewing Patterns I Want to Make in 2020- Part 2
In my last post, I talked about sewing patterns I want to make in 2020. In this post, I wanted to continue to talk about the sewing patterns I want to make in 2020 and why. You can read the first post here. There is one more post after this one, so please wait until later this week to read it!
The first sewing pattern I want to make is McCall’s M7906…
This pattern makes a high waist, paper bag skirt with buttons down the front. I make a skirt with buttons down the front a few years ago (You can read more about that in this post here) but I like this one because it is shorter than the one I made. The length of the skirt I made makes it hard to wear and style for me, so I want to use this pattern to make myself a shorter skirt.
The next sewing pattern I want to make is McCall’s M8005…
Although I want to make McCall’s M7906, I also want to make a different skirt in the the same length. I found this pattern in my pattern collection, so I decided to make it this year.
The next sewing pattern I want to make is Simplicity S9040…
I really loved this dress style the moment I saw it at the store. I don’t have fabric to make it, but I hope to get some in February. That way I can make the dress before March and wear it to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. (I know this dress is not a festival style dress, but I don’t really feel inspired for this year’s festival so I decided to make this dress instead.)
The next sewing pattern I want to make is Butterick B6400…
To be honest, I don’t have many sewing plans for costumes this year, but I wanted to add one to my 2020 sewing pattern plans posts, so here it is!
I want to make view C of Butterick’s B6400. I want to use it to make myself a Victorian top that looks like one I found online that has Hussar inspired piping over it. I’m not sure if I’ll get around to making the top, but it is on my short list of costumes to make.
The next sewing pattern I want to make is Simplicity S9036…
In addition to clothes, I have many home decor things I would like to make, including throw pillows, quilts, table runners, and curtains. Although I have sewing patterns for them, I wanted to talk about only a few. One of the more fun patterns I wanted to make is this Harry Potter character pillow pattern.
I’m not a huge Harry Potter fan, but I thought these pillows looked too cute not to try. Plus, I would like to put them out during Halloween. I’m not a fan of extremely spooky and scary Halloween decor, but finding something that I like is hard. So, I would like these pillows to put out during the Halloween season for a cute alternative than stuff I’d find in the store.
The last sewing pattern I would like to sew is Simplicity S9039…
Another one of the home decor sewing patterns (and projects) I want to make this year is a new Christmas tree skirt. This pattern was new for 2019, so I would like to give it a try.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
