  • The Granado Espada Elementalist- Skirt Progress Update

    July 28, 2014 /

I mentioned in an earlier post that I decided to make the Granado Espada Elementalist dress. Here’s a picture of the costume to remind everyone what I’m talking about… I knew this costume would be difficult to make, but I desperately need a vacation from making Doctor Who costumes and this was the perfect project for me. Also, although I knew this dress would required a lot of fabric and the money to buy said fabric, I decided not to attend any more conventions until January 2015. That is subject to change, but that is the main idea. Since I had money to use for things other than conventions, I…

  • Clara Oswald’s Cold War Dress

    July 14, 2014 /

In continuation of my previous post about the costumes I planned on wearing to the 2014 Phoenix Comicon, here’s one I was planning on wearing on Friday night of the convention! I was planning on going to the Party Like a Time Lord dance but I ended up skipping the dance to get a photo with John Barrowman. (Not a bad trade if you ask me!) If I had gone, and wore a costume, I was going to be Clara Oswald from Cold War. In the episode she wore a light blue party dress with silver sparkle heels, perfect for a dance at a convention! Or a dance period. So,…

  • Elizabeth i Day of the Doctor Dress- Completed

    May 19, 2014 /

Wow. I just realized how behind I am in updating everyone on new and finished sewing and art projects. It’s kind of sad really and I want to fix it. Still, life stuff gets in my way more times than not. Ugh. Anyway, I mentioned a while ago I was making Elizabeth i’s dress from the Doctor Who 50th anniversary episode Day of the Doctor. Well, it’s done! Actually, its been done for over a month. Almost two. Anyway, the plan was to make the dress and wear it to the 2014 Arizona Renaissance Festival. I did finish it in time, but I got sick the weekend I wanted to…

  • The Completed Fable 3 Elegant Princess Suit

    April 3, 2014 /

I’m not very pleased with the title of this post, but its the best I can think of right now. 😛 I began making the Elegant Princess Suit (Or dress) from the video game Fable 3 back in November of 2011. Although I finished it in 2012, I had to remake parts of it thanks to the constant enemy of my sewing and normal, everyday clothing… growth spurts. Fortunately, I finished it and it still fits in spite of recent growth spurts. (That’s right. I’m apparently not done growing) Although I finished it, I never got around to taking photos of the completed costume. Since I still don’t know some…

  • River Song Day of the Moon Dress- The Good Enough Version

    March 31, 2014 /

A while ago, 2013 to be exact, I wanted to make River Song’s Day of the Moon dress for the Phoenix Comicon. I found a tutorial on how to make a dress from scratch here at the RPF forum and after studying it, I realized it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish it or make it for the convention, but I still worked on it and finished it last year. At that time I had a sewing machine wasn’t working well. Although I was able to finish this dress in-spite of the sewing machine, the dress wasn’t made well. The seams…

  • Elizabeth I from Day of the Doctor- The Skirts

    January 24, 2014 /

I announced this on Tumblr, but I was lazy about making a post about my 2014 Renaissance Festival costume here. I try to make a new one each year, but I usually don’t wear them because I’m scared I’ll get it dirty, I wanted to wear comfy clothes instead of an elaborate dress, and/or I didn’t finish them in time. (Remember the Thor-inspired Valkyrie? That didn’t get finished in time. And I’m still working on it, but that’s another story.) This year, I decided to make Elizabeth I from Day of the Doctor…. I always wanted a yellow-colored dress but I could have one because my skin clashes with yellow…

  • K-9 Cosplays the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 11th Doctor

    December 24, 2013 /

Well, today is the last day to finish the rest of the K-9 Cosplays paintings and I’m three paintings behind. Originally I was going to finish/post the last painting on December 25th, but the past three days made me realize that might not be possible due to busy, non-holiday related things. So, I decided to post the rest of the paintings at once on the 24th so I can call it done and not be so stressed out about it. Since I’m posting the finished, un-posted paintings on the same day, I decided to make one mass post about all the paintings instead of individual posts about each painting. The…

  • K-9 Cosplays the 4th Doctor

    December 18, 2013 /

At last, I finished my painting of K-9 cosplaying the 4th Doctor… Clicking on the painting will take you to the DeviantART page of the painting. I mentioned in my K-9 9th Doctor painting that the whole idea for the painting series came from a joke my dad made about me painting K-9 wearing the 4th Doctor’s scarf and hat. Since this was the first painting idea, the line art for it was painted first, but I didn’t finish coloring it until today. The scarf K-9 is wearing is from season 15. I picked that season’s scarf because season 15 was the first season K-9 was in Doctor Who. (At…

    December 18, 2013 /

This post has been a long time coming, but alas. I’ve been having trouble writing it and making it sound logical. Hopefully you won’t have this problem while reading it! XD I’ve mentioned in earlier posts that I’ve been going through growth spurts. These growth spurts have been taking place for about three years, but it wasn’t until this year that they started to slow down to the point when I think they might be ending. (At last!) Since these growth spurts have been taking place for years and I’ve been growing inches a year, costumes I made months or years before wearing it no longer fit. Its always hard…

  • K-9 Cosplays the 2nd Doctor

    December 16, 2013 /

Continuing to go out of regeneration and posting order (Sort of), here’s today’s painting in the K-9 cosplays the Doctor series…. the 2nd Doctor! You can fave the painting on DeviantART here. This one is so far my favorite in the “cuteness” department because I painted K-9 playing the recorder. I didn’t originally have that idea when I began to paint this picture, but after working on it for a while I thought it would be funny to paint. As for what represents the 2nd Doctor in this painting, the jacket, bow tie, and, of course, the recorder are all from the 2nd Doctor. It was my first time painting…
