Making Rose Tyler’s Stolen Earth Jacket- Figuring out the Fabric
A while ago I made a post here on my blog asking if anyone was interested in a tutorial on how to make Rose Tyler’s jackets from the Empty Child/Doctor Dances and Turn Left/The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End. I was surprised that there was a lot of interest in it (I really shouldn’t have been surprised, but still…), so I decided to delete the post so no one will think I’m still asking for input about a tutorial and begin to work on creating the jacket “tutorials”. I decided to work on the Stolen Earth jacket and make the tutorial for it first because I already have everything I needed to…

Rose Tyler Painting
In an earlier post, I talked about painting Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) from Doctor Who. After completing the line art, I finished coloring it. And here’s the result! You can fave it here on DeviantART. That’s about it! I wish I had more to say about it, but I don’t. Simple post for today. 🙂

7 Day Gimp Challenge- Day 5
By day 5 of the challenge, I got sick of reading tutorial for Gimp. Instead, I wanted to paint. A lot. I ended up painting two “line art” pictures for my own amusement. After some thought, I decided to post only one of them. I like the other painting too, but I’m not ready to post it yet. Here is the painting…. (Clicking on the picture will take you to the devainART submission) Do you recognize her? It’s Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) from Doctor Who. I’ve been trying to draw and paint her for years but I ended up hating each drawing and painting I’ve done. I used one of…

Lady Romana i Drawing
Back in May of this year, I decided to draw a friend of mine a picture of Romana i from Doctor Who as a gift. Drawing this picture was very hard for me to draw because I visualized Romana in an art nouveau style setting. (And I couldn’t get that idea out of my head) I’ve been having trouble, and plenty of self doubt, about my ability to draw in an art nouveau style, but I gave it a try anyway. After sketching one failed drawing, I ended up drawing, and liking, this…. *Clicking on the drawing will take you to the deviantART submission of the same drawing* As usual,…

Madame de Pompadour Painting
Recently my page view counter on deviantART has reached 5,000 so I decided to do something special to celebrate the 5,000th view. There is a painting I did a while back in Gimp of Madame de Pompadour from the Doctor Who episode Girl in the Fireplace that I never really finished. It was the first painting I ever did using my Wacom bamboo tablet so I was unsure how the response would be once I posted it online. The response was positive so I decided that the plain painting would one day receive an art nouveau-style background.

K-9 Drawing and PCC 2013 Badge Submission
I thought I talked about the drawing I did of K-9 and how I entered it into the Phoenix Comicon 2013 art badge contest on here, but I didn’t! Oops! About a year (maybe more?) ago, I made a digital painting/drawing of K-9 from Doctor Who. It was hard to paint because I couldn’t find a 100% side view photograph of K-9. I ended up fusing many photos and created the painting based off those photos. Here’s what he looks like without a background….. Clicking on the painting will take you to the deviantART submission This year, I decided to enter the Phoenix Comicon’s art badge contest. I entered two…

Idiot’s Lantern Dress~ Part 1
Since it’s taking me a long time to work and make posts about the new Idiot’s Lantern dress, I decided to split the posts into parts. So, this is part one of how ever many posts needed to make until I finish the dress! Anyway, here is the progress I’ve made on sewing the sequins onto Version 2 of the dress…. I didn’t work on the dress for a few weeks because I was more concerned about what I was going to make and wear to the Phoenix Comicon. Now that it’s over, I can resume working on it. In other Idiot’s Lantern dress news… After a lot of thought,…

Rose Tyler Empty Child Jacket
This poor blog has fallen to the waist side while I worked on things for the Phoenix Comicon, so before I leave for the PCC, I decided to make a post about one of the costumes I’ll be wearing while there… Rose Tyler from The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. Specifically the jacket. I know this isn’t the best photo of the jacket, but you get the idea of what I’m talking about. 🙂 I’ve been wanting to cosplay as Rose Tyler from those episodes for about a year now and I’ve gathered everything I needed for the costume except for the coat. I couldn’t find the real coat on ebay…

The Completed Idiot’s Lantern Dress
A while ago, I talked about the Rose Tyler Idiot’s Lantern dress that I made by sewing all the sequins on the top by hand. At the time, I had finished sewing the sequins on it and thought it was completely done. Since then, I fixed parts of it I didn’t like and lengthened the skirt. (I lengthened the skirt by re-doing the hem. I made the skirt longer than I normally would so I could have the luxury of doing this) I didn’t have very many pictures of it because I didn’t have a dress form to show how the whole dress looks completed. I finally got around to…
