Rose Tyler’s Empty Child Jacket- Version 2
It’s been a year since I made my first Empty Child jacket and as much as I like my first jacket, I wanted to remake it. There were problems with my first jacket, mostly due to the fact it was the first time I ever made a jacket like this. Most of the problems had to do with fitting and little nit picky things, but it still bothered me. I believed I could do better, so I spent months doing more research on the jacket so I could create a better, more accurate jacket. Probably the most annoying thing about doing more research is that my original post about the…

Idiot’s Lantern Dress Update Prt. 1
It’s been a while since I updated everyone on how version 3 of my Rose Tyler Idiot’s Lantern dress is going. I had some time today to take photos and make a post so… here we go! The sequin sewing progress has been slow. Very slow. Not because I gave up working on it, but because so many things happened the past few months I forgot I was making the dress. It wasn’t until I almost knocked over my container of sequins that I remembered I was working on the dress. So, it’s back on my list of to-finish sewing projects. Since I forgot about this dress, sequin sewing progress…

Making Rose Tyler’s Stolen Earth Jacket- Figuring out the Patterns
It’s been many months since I mentioned that I was working on a scratch-built Rose Tyler’s Stolen Earth jacket. For the most part I’ve been too busy and frustrated to work on the jacket, but this past week I decided it was time to sit down and work on the patterns, cut out the fabric, and possibly finish a majority of the jacket. So far I’ve worked on the patterns, cut out the fabric, and pined the pieces together. XD Originally I planned on drafting the patterns for the jacket from scratch, but I abandoned that idea for a variety of reasons, mostly to save myself from going crazy with…

Changes to The Idiot’s Lantern Page…
I usually get most of my page views on this website thanks to searches looking for how to make Rose Tyler’s dress from The Idiot’s Lantern. I made a page for all the Rose Tyler dresses, but after reorganizing parts of this website, I began to not like the way I set up the dress page. I talked about all three versions of the dress that I made on one page and, although it is convenient for anyone looking up information about the dress, it’s a pain to maintain. So, I decided to change it. The original page will still remain, but I’ll take away all the information and photos…

Idiot’s Lantern Dress~ Sequin Update Number 1
It’s been a while since I talked about my Rose Tyler, Idiot’s Lantern dress, so I thought I’d better give an update on the progress of version 2 of the dress. To make sure everyone knows what “version 2” of the dress is, version 2 is the one with all the sequins hand-sewn onto the bodice. So far, I did make progress on sewing sequins onto the bodice, but I only finished two “panels” of the dress. Here’s what they look like…. So, that’s about it. I’m still working on it. Obviously I missed wearing it to the 50th anniversary screening, but I’m not as upset as I thought I…

Idiot’s Lantern Dress~ Part 2
Just to clarify, this post is about version 3 of my Idiot’s Lantern dress. Version 3 is made with fabric that has sequins already on it. After working on my Snow White dress, I thought I’d better start on something “new” until the fabric I ordered for the dress arrived. I ended up working on the Idiot’s Lantern dress because I already made two of them, so it would be easy for me to assemble. I ended up using the same exact bodice pattern I was using for the hand-sewn sequined bodice. (It was kind of a “If it isn’t broke, why fix it?” deal) I used the same modified…

Making Rose Tyler’s Stolen Earth Jacket- Figuring out the Fabric
A while ago I made a post here on my blog asking if anyone was interested in a tutorial on how to make Rose Tyler’s jackets from the Empty Child/Doctor Dances and Turn Left/The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End. I was surprised that there was a lot of interest in it (I really shouldn’t have been surprised, but still…), so I decided to delete the post so no one will think I’m still asking for input about a tutorial and begin to work on creating the jacket “tutorials”. I decided to work on the Stolen Earth jacket and make the tutorial for it first because I already have everything I needed to…

Rose Tyler Painting
In an earlier post, I talked about painting Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) from Doctor Who. After completing the line art, I finished coloring it. And here’s the result! You can fave it here on DeviantART. That’s about it! I wish I had more to say about it, but I don’t. Simple post for today. 🙂

7 Day Gimp Challenge- Day 5
By day 5 of the challenge, I got sick of reading tutorial for Gimp. Instead, I wanted to paint. A lot. I ended up painting two “line art” pictures for my own amusement. After some thought, I decided to post only one of them. I like the other painting too, but I’m not ready to post it yet. Here is the painting…. (Clicking on the picture will take you to the devainART submission) Do you recognize her? It’s Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) from Doctor Who. I’ve been trying to draw and paint her for years but I ended up hating each drawing and painting I’ve done. I used one of…

Idiot’s Lantern Dress~ Part 1
Since it’s taking me a long time to work and make posts about the new Idiot’s Lantern dress, I decided to split the posts into parts. So, this is part one of how ever many posts needed to make until I finish the dress! Anyway, here is the progress I’ve made on sewing the sequins onto Version 2 of the dress…. I didn’t work on the dress for a few weeks because I was more concerned about what I was going to make and wear to the Phoenix Comicon. Now that it’s over, I can resume working on it. In other Idiot’s Lantern dress news… After a lot of thought,…
