  • Wood DIY Ornaments from Michael’s Craft Store

    October 4, 2023 /

Hi everyone! It may be October, but Christmas is coming soon. For the past few years, I’ve been collecting wood DIY ornaments from different places. Usually, my favorite places to shop for them is at Michael’s Craft Store and on Amazon. (The Joann closest to me doesn’t usually carry the DIY ornaments in the style I want them to be in) I began collecting these ornaments as a way of adding a more personal touch to my Christmas tree without spending a lot of money. After collecting these ornaments, I decided to start working on decorating them. Before I do, I wanted to show what the ornaments look like before…

    July 6, 2023 /

Hi everyone! A few years ago, I decided to start creating more customized home decor. I wanted to do this prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, but decided to after the pandemic started. What spurred my desire to make customized home decor was my worries about finding new decor made out of higher quality materials. I also wanted to do this in order to have more things I made and can display around my house. Earlier this month, I went to the Dollar Tree to see if they had any new books for sale. (I like to shop there for books) While there, I found the summer inspired decorations. They looked…

  • A Few Craft Projects I’m Working on Right Now

    March 14, 2023 /

Hi everyone! Writing posts about things I make is something I really enjoy doing. Yet, there are many things I work on but never talk about online. I usually do this because I don’t really like to talk about everything I do online. I also do this because I don’t always enjoy the way everything I make turns out and want to keep it online. Despite this, I sometimes work on things and feel very proud of them enough to talk about them online. Right now, I have several craft projects I’m working on but never mentioned online. After working on them, I feel very happy with the way they…

  • The Importance of Taking Hand Breaks While Knitting

    September 6, 2022 /

Hi everyone! As I write this, I am feeling the effects of knitting too much. Along with my shoulders hurting, my hands are hurting pretty badly. Many years ago, I used to feel hand pain a lot. Since it was so normal, I would push through the pain. Today, I understand the cause of the pain (Inflammation from underlining health issues (Not arthritis) and neurological problems I struggled with my whole life) so I know that I will need to take a break. If a break is something I cannot do (Usually due to work deadlines), I take breaks throughout the day and rest my hands. Right now I have…

  • Types of Knitting Needles I Own and My Thoughts About Them

    January 3, 2022 /

Hi everyone! As you probably know by now, I’m currently having body movement problems connected with healing from health problems I had for years. I am also taking time off sewing and traveling to take a lot of photographs in order to conserve my energy. Even though I’m taking time off two hobbies of mine, I’m still trying to do things to cheer myself up. One of those things is knitting. Knitting and crocheting are two hobbies I don’t think I’m good at, especially crocheting, but I surprise myself whenever I take on a new project and can find errors in the pattern. (Especially knitting) I don’t know why I…

  • Walmart Unfinished Wood Box

    June 1, 2021 /

For years, I wanted to own a nice wood box to store things in. I didn’t know what I would store in the box, such as jewelry or keepsakes, but I knew I would like to use it as a display piece. I also had an idea what kind of box I would like to buy. The problem was I couldn’t find the box I liked in my price range. Frustrated by this, I decided to search for a DIY box and paint or stain it. I looked at Michael’s, Joann’s, or Hobby Lobby. I also tried Walmart, but I couldn’t find one in the style or hardware I wanted…

  • Why I’m Interested in Candle Making

    April 13, 2021 /

Hi everyone! Recently, while sitting at home trying to think of ways of reducing my allergic reaction to certain allergens, I remembered certain scented candles trigger my allergies. Like many people with allergies, I struggle finding candle fragrances I love that do not trigger my allergies. I’m fortunate that my allergies are not as bad as others I know, but I still have my struggles. One of my major problems with candles is not always the fragrances, but the candle wax. One of my allergies is to soy. This is a problem because if I burn a soy candle, I’ll have an allergic reaction. Because of this, I got rid…
