Wood DIY Ornaments from Michael’s Craft Store

Hi everyone! It may be October, but Christmas is coming soon. For the past few years, I’ve been collecting wood DIY ornaments from different places. Usually, my favorite places to shop for them is at Michael’s Craft Store and on Amazon. (The Joann closest to me doesn’t usually carry the DIY ornaments in the style I want them to be in) I began collecting these ornaments as a way of adding a more personal touch to my Christmas tree without spending a lot of money.

After collecting these ornaments, I decided to start working on decorating them. Before I do, I wanted to show what the ornaments look like before I decorated them. I also want to talk about what my tentative plans for decorating the ornaments. All the ornaments come in a pack of 50.

The first ornament I purchased from Michael’s are a set of tag ornaments…

My idea is to paint these ornaments like luggage tags from Louis Vuitton. I have 50 of them, so I plan on doing some other things with the tags as well. I was also thinking of paining them to look like luggage tags with art from different travel destinations. It depends on how many Louis Vuitton inspired tags I want to make.

The next ornaments look like ball shaped ornaments…

It’s been a long time since I purchased these ornaments. Because of this, I forgot what I originally wanted to do with the ornaments. My current plan is to stain the ornaments, ten at a time, and then decorate them. I don’t know what the decorations will look like, but right now I want to focus on staining the ornaments.

The next ornaments are these snowflake ornaments…

In addition to these ornaments, I also purchased another set of snowflake ornaments from Amazon. These ornaments have a less complicated snowflake design, but I really like them. I don’t know what I will do with them aside from possibly staining then decorating them with gold paint.

The last ornaments are these…

I thought about decorating them with mid century designs on them. I don’t know how nicely they will turn out, but I’m hopeful they will look really nice!

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
