Snowy Mountain Scene Embroidery Update- The Finished Project and Thoughts on It
Hi everyone! It’s been months since I published a post about my embroidery. So far progress has been slow on all my embroidery kits. I’m not sure when I’ll be able to finish all my kits, but I know now it will take me some time. In the mean time, I decided to talk about the progress I made so far. I am happy to report that the kit I worked on first is now officially done!

Progress Update on My Winter Mountain Embroidery Kit
Hi everyone! In 2023, I decided to pick up embroidery again. I used to embroider in my teens and early twenties, but I stopped due to health concerns I had (They were unrelated to my hands, yet it impacted them) and to focus on other things. In 2023, I decided to pick up embroidery as a hobby again. Even though I really liked embroidery, it had been many years since I used it as a hobby. Because of this, I was unsure if I could remember all the embroidery stitches and create them as well as I used to. So, I decided to purchase embroidery kits off Amazon to help…

Some Thoughts on JoAnn Stores and Their Most Recent Bankruptcy Filing
Hi everyone! I don’t normally talk about stores or brands and their business dealings, but I feel like I need to talk about JoAnn’s most recent bankruptcy filing. In 2024, JoAnn filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. I used to mention the JoAnn store many times in my sewing posts, but I stopped because I started to not shop there for fabric or DIY supplies. There were several reasons for this, but one of them is because the closest store to where I live became to hard to me to travel to. Despite my slowing interest in shopping at JoAnn, I also didn’t like the fabric selection they had. The quality…

Wood DIY Countdown to Christmas- Rough Painting the House
Hi everyone! This post will be the last post in my series about how I made my wood DIY countdown to Christmas house. After I finished rough painting the house, I decided to change some things about it. Since I haven’t finished working on the changes, I decided to delay the finished post about what the house looks like completed for a while.

Wood DIY Countdown to Christmas- Working on the Chimney
Hi everyone! It’s getting closer to Christmas, which means to me that I need to finish publishing posts about my work on my wood DIY countdown to Christmas decoration. I had plans to publish at least one post per week leading up to Christmas, but that has changed. Unfortunately, one of my relatives will have out patent surgery the week before Christmas. Because of this, I decided to publish all the posts I have completed in my Countdown to Christmas DIY this week. In this post, I will be talking about how I worked on the chimney on the house.

Wood DIY Countdown to Christmas Decor- The Broken Roof & Future Plans
Hi everyone! Three years ago, I decided to purchase DIY wood Christmas decor and paint it with the colors I want them to have. At that point in time I wanted certain holiday decorations that were available as DIY wood decor, but not in a pre-painted version. One of the DIY decor I purchased was a wood Christmas countdown decoration. Over the years I worked on it and, as of the writing of this post, it is still not finished. Still, I enjoy thinking about it and working on it every now and then. Since I enjoy working on it, I wanted to write posts about how I turned it…

Sewing Ties to a Duvet Cover: Why It Didn’t Have Ties and How I Fixed It
Hi everyone! I decided to use a duvet instead of a comforter earlier this year. So far I like the duvet over a comforter. Not only can I change the thickness of the insert, I can use the same duvet cover for both inserts. A while ago, I found a duvet cover on Amazon. It is a buffalo plaid cotton duvet cover and it was on sale for a good price. I decided to buy it. When fall started, I decided to use my new plaid duvet cover. When I tried to put it on my duvet insert, I was shocked to find the cover didn’t have ties attached to…

A Few Sewing and Craft Things I’m Working on This Month- July 2024
Hi everyone! This year has been interesting. Every year has been interesting, but this year has included new experiences. One of those experiences is to work on my house. I finished painting my bathroom a few months ago and I’m still stunned it looks as good as it does. Even though painting my bathroom and other diy repairs around my house are not diy crafts, I’m feeling very proud of my work and progress on it! Since I’ve been working on my house, I haven’t had time or energy to work on anything but the house. Even though it is halfway through the month, I decided to slow down on…

New Knitting Projects and Worries About Storing Yarn
Hi everyone! Since last year, I have been working on new knitting projects. I originally planned to sew instead, but I had some issues with sewing patterns. Also, I decided to do some work in my house. These home projects caused me to put away my sewing machine for a while. Since I didn’t have my sewing machine out anymore, I decided to knit instead of sew. So far I’m enjoying knitting right now. I’m making scarfs inspired by the house scarfs from Harry Potter. The pattern I used is from the first Harry Potter knitting book. They turned out really nice. I decided to make many scarves in different…

Christmas Tree Farm Wood DIY Sign- The Finished Sign
Hi everyone! Well, it’s almost Christmas and I’ve been pretty busy. Even though I’ve been busy, I was able to finish the sign! As of this publishing of this post, it is currently hanging up in my house as part of my Christmas decor. Since it is in use, I decided to take a photograph of the sign hanging on the wall.
