My Sewing Project List for Spring 2024
Hi everyone! It’s spring time and I really enjoy this time of the year. One of the things I look forward to every spring is creating a new list for sewing projects.
This year, I have many clothes I want to make. Some of them are clothing items I wanted to make for months if not years, but never did. Others are new sewing patterns I purchased and want to make. I don’t know if I will be able to finish everything on this list before the end of spring. Still, my goal is to make at least three of the projects on this list before the end of spring.
Vogue V2004
The first sewing project I want to make is view A of Vogue V2004. I wanted to make a dress similar to one I saw from Ted Baker London. It is a cotton dress with lace inserts. I liked the dress so much I wanted to purchase it, but I couldn’t find it in my size or in my price range. After over a year of searching for it in my size, and for an affordable price, I gave up and tried to find a sewing pattern I can use to make myself a dress. When I saw Vogue’s V2004, I knew it was a perfect sewing pattern to make my dress with. It isn’t exactly like the Ted Baker dress, but it is a dress with lace inserts and the fabrics are similar to the Ted Baker dress. I’m really excited to make it!
Simplicity S9780
Unlike Vogue V2004, I already own Simplicity S9780. I really loved this pattern and wanted to make it for over a year, yet I didn’t. This year, I am serious about making it. I really want to make myself view A. I already own some cotton fabric I want to make the dress out of, but I also want to make another version inspired by Zimmerman dresses. I don’t own the cotton for the second dress, but, if I like sewing the pattern, I will search for it this spring.
Etsy Indi Sewing Patterns
I found so many clothes I wanted to make using Indi sewing pattern available for purchase on Etsy. I really love the patterns I purchased and have been wondering when I will be able to make them. This season, I want to make at least one of them.
A Formal Blouse
Among the many things I need to add to my closet, I want to make myself a formal blouse. I want to own more clothing for office wear, but I can’t find anything in stores. Even though I can’t find them in stores, I have found sewing patterns for the type of blouses I want to own. I wanted a blouse with a detailed and fun sleeves. The patterns I found are perfect for it!
Black Skirt
I needed to make myself a new black skirt for years. Unfortunately, I didn’t get around to do it! This year, I want to fix that. I have an idea for the kind of black skirt I want to make and wear. Basically, it is a princess seam skirt that flares out at the bottom. I like these kinds of skirts and wanted to add one to my wardrobe for years, yet I couldn’t find one to purchase. So, making one it is!
I have several sewing patterns in mind I can use to make one, including McCall’s M8280. I think I will make multiple skirts in different lengths and fabrics, just because it is a wardrobe staple that looks good no matter what is in fashion.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
