October 2024 Sewing Plans

Hi everyone! It’s October and I have a lot of sewing to do. I planned on working on my sewing projects months ago, but things keep getting in my way. So, I needed to wait until October to try to sew anything.

This month, I decided to focus my attention on things that I need. One of the things I need the most are new pajamas. I finally gave up searching for a set in store and decided to make my own. (The ones I like don’t fit me in the chest. The others are way too big on me or I just don’t like at all) I also need to make myself quilts. I already have the quilt block patterns I want to use. All I need to do is just cut and sew the pieces. There is also a new quilt I need to make… but I’ll go into that later in this post.

Christmas Pajama Set

I recently found some Christmas themed cotton flannel that gave me the idea to make a pajama set! I need to make myself some new pajamas anyway (I make myself new pajama bottoms every year in the fall) so I decided to add this set to my plans. I already have the fabric and own the sewing pattern (Butterick B6296) but I still need to get some additional supplies before I can begin to make them.

Turquoise and Grey Quilt

I talked about this quilt in a previous post (You can read it here). I decided to work on it this fall with posts about how I made it in the spring. So far I cut all the fabric and have begun to sew the blocks together. I will probably finish making the blocks for the quilt before the end of the month.

Blue and Yellow Quilt

Like the turquoise and grey quilt, I talked about making this quilt in a previous post. (You can read that post here) I haven’t started working on it yet but I plan on finishing the blocks for it by the end of this month.

Quilt Using Scraps from the Turquoise and Grey Quilt and the Blue and Yellow Quilt

I know I will have some left over fabric from both quilts, so I decided to make another quilt using the scraps from them! I have a simple quilt block pattern picked to make the quilt out of. (I found it on JoAnn’s website) All I need to do is finish both quilts so I will know how many scraps I have to make the quilt out of.

Snowflake Quilt

This is something I just thought of to make a few weeks ago. I decided to do this in for sentimental reasons and in honor of someone who passed away. I don’t have the fabric right now, but I did pick out the pattern to make the quilt out of. Due to the very personal reason why I decided to make the quilt, I may not be talking about it much if at all online. Yet, it is something I am very focused on and want to get started as soon as possible.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
