May 2024 Sewing Project List

Hi everyone! It’s a new month and that means it’s time for me to make a list of everything I want to get done during the month. One of those to-do lists is my sewing list for the month.

This month, I will be continuing my work on a sewing project I started last month, fix a plush doll that needs repairs, and work on new dresses for the summer. I want to make my list longer, but after how busy the past two months have been, I decided to keep my list short this month. I also anticipate May becoming a busy month as well. As of the publishing of this post, I anticipate June will be slow. Thus it will be the month when I can tackle more sewing projects! Still, I’m very wary of my current sewing plans due to the rapid way I can become busy and not busy.

Vogue Pattern’s V2004

I mentioned this pattern in a previous sewing to-do list type post, but I haven’t mentioned it since. The reason why I haven’t mentioned it is because I have been working on it! I am over halfway done working on it, but it was hard to work on. The pattern itself wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, but I did have some major swelling in my stomach due to an eczema flare up that caused fitting issues. These fitting issues made me second guess the fit and what I should do with it. If I didn’t have these problems, I would be either done with the dress or would almost be done by now. Since I’m still working on the dress, I plan on finishing it by the end of this month.

Fixing a Plush Doll

I purchase a plush doll at a thrift store for a friend of mine’s children. She ended up not needing it, but I decided to keep it. When I purchased it at the thrift store, I knew it needed repairs. I planned on repairing it before my friend’s children needed it, but when she didn’t need it, I decided to put off fixing it. In May, I plan on fixing it. I don’t plan on writing posts about how I fixed it or share any photographs of it online. Since my to sew list for the month is very small, I wanted to mention it anyway.

A Summer Dress

The last sewing project I want to work on for the month is a summer dress. I’m not sure what I want it to ideally look like, but I want to use fabric in my fabric stash to make it. I know I have blue gingham cotton and lemon fabric that I have earmarked for a summer dress or clothing for years. I think this is the month to take them out of storage and begin to turn them into something!

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
