  • Wood DIY Countdown to Christmas- Sanding The Filled In Parts

    November 19, 2024 /

Hi everyone! In my previous post about my wood diy countdown to Christmas, I mentioned that I decided to fill the areas where there are gaps and the parts of the roof that broke. After taking the photos used in the post, I sanded. And sanded. And sanded some more. That was when I decided to take photographs of what the house looked like before I moved onto working on other areas.

    November 13, 2024 /

Hi everyone! In my previous post about my wood countdown to Christmas decoration, I talked about how the roof of the house was broken. I was able to glue the broken pieces back onto the house, but the broken sections could still be seen. I also knew it would be visible even when painted. In order to make these broken areas blend into the rest of the roof, I decided to use a wood filler on the broken areas.

  • Wood DIY Countdown to Christmas Decor- The Broken Roof & Future Plans

    November 5, 2024 /

Hi everyone! Three years ago, I decided to purchase DIY wood Christmas decor and paint it with the colors I want them to have. At that point in time I wanted certain holiday decorations that were available as DIY wood decor, but not in a pre-painted version. One of the DIY decor I purchased was a wood Christmas countdown decoration. Over the years I worked on it and, as of the writing of this post, it is still not finished. Still, I enjoy thinking about it and working on it every now and then. Since I enjoy working on it, I wanted to write posts about how I turned it…

  • A Few Sewing and Craft Things I’m Working on This Month- July 2024

    July 15, 2024 /

Hi everyone! This year has been interesting. Every year has been interesting, but this year has included new experiences. One of those experiences is to work on my house. I finished painting my bathroom a few months ago and I’m still stunned it looks as good as it does. Even though painting my bathroom and other diy repairs around my house are not diy crafts, I’m feeling very proud of my work and progress on it! Since I’ve been working on my house, I haven’t had time or energy to work on anything but the house. Even though it is halfway through the month, I decided to slow down on…

  • Wood Star DIY Sign- Plans, Materials, and Progress

    February 1, 2024 /

Hi everyone! Last year, I got really into painting DIY wood decor. I really like the ability to customize decor to my colors and whatever style I think of. Last year, I found a star wall art at Dollar Tree. It was very pretty, but it gave me the idea to make a wall art inspired by something I used to decorate my room as a teenager. Back then, I had a star from my eighth grade promotion dance. It was simple, not super special, and was not made to last, yet I loved it a lot. The fact the dance was star inspired was also ironic. I liked looking…

    December 23, 2023 /

Hi everyone! Well, it’s almost Christmas and I’ve been pretty busy. Even though I’ve been busy, I was able to finish the sign! As of this publishing of this post, it is currently hanging up in my house as part of my Christmas decor. Since it is in use, I decided to take a photograph of the sign hanging on the wall.

  • Christmas Tree Farm Wood DIY Sign- Ruff Background Paint and Second Thoughts About Color Schemes

    December 20, 2023 /

Hi everyone! I made some progress painting the Christmas Tree Farm sign. After my second thoughts staining the edge of the sign, I decided to proceed forward in painting the sign. I wanted the stain to be a red tone and the background of the sign dark green. From there, I would paint the sign’s wording and other decorations on it. Since the stain was more purple berry colored than red, I didn’t know if the green background would clash with the stain color. Even though I was worried, I decided to proceed forward in painting the background.

  • Wood DIY Star Ornaments and The Success and Struggles to Paint Them Gold Like Dior Charms

    December 19, 2023 /

Hi everyone! Last year, I decided to buy unfinished wood star ornaments. I had an idea to make them look like star charms that come with purchases made from the luxury fashion house Dior. I saw people online hand their star charms on their Christmas trees, which I liked a lot. Stars are a favorite shape and design, so having a tree full of them caught my eye. The only problem is the people online seem to shop at Dior far more than I do because they had many stars to hang on their tree! In order to have star charms to hang on my tree, but not go into…

    December 18, 2023 /

Hi everyone! Last year, I purchased a DIY Christmas Tree Farm wood sign from Michael’s Crafts. At that time, signs advertising Christmas trees meant something special to me. (And no, it doesn’t have to do with Taylor Swift’s song!) I saw the sign multiple times when I would shop at Michael’s. I really liked it more than other finished signs, so I decided to purchase it and decorate it myself. Even though I started working on it last year, I finished it this year. I wanted to talk in blog posts about the process I went through to decorate the sign and the thoughts I had a long the way!

  • Picking Up Embroidery Again and The Struggle to Find Embroidery Floss (Right Now at Least)

    October 23, 2023 /

Hi everyone! After many years, I finally decided to pick up embroidering again. When I was in college, I used to love embroidery. I had ideas for embroidery patterns. Years later, when I tried to make costumes and cosplay, I tried to incorporate my love of embroidery into certain costumes. (This is why I made such an elaborate pink dress for a Doctor Who costume and white embroidery for now completely retired Code Geass Costume) In my mid twenties, I stopped embroidering. Things in my life rapidly changed, which caused me to suddenly stop embroidering. Recently, I began to watch YouTube videos about embroidering. I liked the videos, but after…
