Favorite Prom Dress Sewing Patterns for 2022- Simplicity
It’s almost the time of the year when prom season begins! I love this time of the year because I enjoy looking at the new formal dress trends at the store. Even though it will be a while before prom season begins, it is the right time for anyone planning to sew their own prom dress to begin searching for patterns, fabric, sewing supplies, and to start sewing it. I wanted to write a post about the prom dress appropriate patterns available for a few years, but never did. This year, I had some time to write posts for every pattern company I wanted to talk about. For the first…

McCall’s M5765 Sewing Plans and Fabric Selection
It’s summer and extremely hot where I live, but I’m already thinking of sewing clothing the fall and winter. I usually do this whenever the temperatures are at their hottest for two reasons: To make myself optimistic the temperatures will cool off and to give me enough time to sew myself some new clothes to wear in cooler temperatures. Even though I talked about my plans to make a coat using a Hilary Duff x McCall’s pattern from the mid to late 2000’s, I wanted to make myself another coat from the pattern collection. This time, it’s M5765.

Simplicity x Disney’s Cruella Sewing Patterns at Joann’s
Hi everyone! Recently, I received an email that Joann’s has exclusive fabric and sewing patterns inspired by Disney’s new movie, Cruella. I was curious, so when I had the chance to go to Joann’s, I went to see the patterns. I found the patterns in a display located on the table where the pattern books are…

Out of Print Sewing Pattern Collections I Would Like to Own
Many years ago, I became interested in buying vintage and out of print sewing patterns. As the years passed, I began to want to focus on collecting a few patterns I would really like to own, and use, instead of collecting the whole entire line of patterns. Even though I’m now very strict about what out of print patterns I want to buy, there are a few pattern lines/collections I would like to own as many patterns from as possible. One of these collections is the Hilary Duff x McCall’s line. There are others, but here are three dream pattern collections I would love to own the whole entire collection…

My Hilary Duff x McCall’s Sewing Pattern Collection- 2021
Recently, I’ve been struggling to come up with blog post ideas for this blog. Since this is my sewing, art, and photography blog, I don’t like to write a post unless I have something creative to share. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to be very creative lately. Due to this, all I have to talk about are my plans for sewing and craft projects. Since I’m struggling to come up with ideas on what to write about, I decided to write a post about something I’m passionate, and proud, of that involves sewing, art, photography, and crafts. Last year, I decided to start purchasing vintage and out of print sewing…

McCall’s M5513 Sewing Plans and Fabric Selection
Hi everyone! Due to circumstances beyond my control, I’m having problems working on my sewing projects. I had plans to work on and finish at least three sewing projects this month, but I still have yet to work on them. None the less, I decided to switch my attention to other sewing projects that create things I know I will like to make in the coming months. One of the things I will need are coats. I already own coats, but after years of making due with the ill fitting coats I purchased, I decided to make my own. I already have plans to make two coats, but they are…

My Current Sewing Clothing Plans for 2021- Style of Clothes, Fit, Ect.
Years ago, I used to talk about how my dress size and weight affected the fit of any clothes I made myself. It’s been a while since I talked about this and, since I’m getting back into sewing myself clothes, I wanted to talk about the kind of sewing patterns and clothing styles I’m currently looking for and decided to make myself this year. For the past few years, I struggled with loose skin after a lengthy illness. Even though I’m quite fit, the loose skin was cause by the illness and took time to heal. My skin is healing very nicely, but it’s been slow and a struggle to…

McCall’s Sewing Pattern Haul- June 2020 Part 1
New sewing pattern haul video up on my YouTube channel: McCall’s sewing pattern haul for June 2020 part 1… I bought so many patterns from McCall’s in June that I needed to split the patterns into two hauls. The second haul is already up on my YouTube channel, but I’ll post that video in a separate post. Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!

Favorite McCall’s Patterns- Summer 2020
Hi everyone! Although McCall’s released their fall patterns, I still have yet to share my favorite patterns released in summer 2020. The summer pattern releases included many original McCall’s designs with official names and hashtags to use if someone makes the pattern and posts a picture of it on social media, as well as patterns from two designers, Nicole Miller and Melissa Watson for Palmer/Pletsch. The Nicole Miller and Meissa Watson patterns do not have official names or hashtags like the patterns designed by McCall’s. Although I still felt disheartened by McCall’s rebranding, I liked a lot of sewing patterns from the summer collection. Here are my favorites…

Favorite McCall’s Patterns- Spring 2020
Hi everyone! Although it’s closer to fall than spring, I never talked about my favorite spring 2020 sewing pattern releases from McCall’s. McCall’s spring 2020 pattern releases are the first patterns that feature the rebranded logo and other rebranded elements to it. This was also the pattern release that named each design and encouraged sewers to use a hashtag if they make the pattern and post a photograph on social media. Although I’m very critical of the McCall’s Pattern Company’s rebranding, I did fall in love with the designs of the sewing patterns from their spring 2020 releases. Here are my favorites…
