An Update on my Pink and Green Quilt- Current Progress and Possible Future Plans for It
Hi everyone! It’s been about a year (It feels like it at least) since I talked about my pink and green quilt. I started last year, but never wrote an update about it since then. Since it has been so long since I talked about it, I wanted to write a post about how far along I am in making it as well as any changes I want to make to it.

Jane Austen at Home by Riley Blake Designs Sense and Sensibility Barton Cottage Quilt Kit
Hi everyone! Over a week ago, I published multiple posts about the Jane Austen at Home quilt kits I own. These kits are from Riley Blake Designs and are mostly inspired by fabric used in a coverlet Jane Austen and two of her family members created. Currently, I own all the kits except one, the Pride and Prejudice kit. Even though I mentioned this in previous posts, I have no current plans to make the kits. Despite this, I am very happy to own them and enjoy the place the hold in my fabric and sewing collection. The kit I will talk about in this post is the Sense and…

Jane Austen at Home by Riley Blake Designs Pillow Cover Kit
Hi everyone! Today, I’m continuing a series of posts about the Jane Austen at Home by Riley Blake Designs kits I own. I don’t own all the kits, but I own most of them. In a previous post, I talked about the Coverlet Kit I own. I also talked about all the kits I own in the collection in a post here. For this post, I will be talking about the Pillow Cover Kit I own. I purchased this kit in order to make a throw pillow cover to go alongside the coverlet. The pillow cover kit is not exactly the same as the coverlet, but it is inspired by…

Jane Austen at Home by Riley Blake Designs Coverlet Quilt Kit
Hi everyone! In September, I published a post about the Jane Austen at Home Collection by Riley Blake Designs. Even though I showed off all the things I own from the collection in that post, I still wanted to write more detailed posts about each quilt kit I own. I planned on doing this earlier this month, but things didn’t work out like I planned. Instead, I’m publishing the posts now! The first kit I wanted to talk about in more detail is the Coverlet Quilt Kit. This kit creates something called a coverlet. (I’m still going to address this kit as a quilt kit for the rest of this…

Tinyspool & Co. Cottagecore Jelly Roll Fabric Pack
Hi everyone! Last week, I talked about the Fall Harvest jelly roll fabric pack by Tinyspool & Co. I also mentioned it is not the only jelly roll fabric pack I purchased by the company. I also purchased a jelly roll fabric pack in the Cottagecore color way. I found the Cottagecore jelly roll on Amazon before I saw the Fall Harvest pack. I was really surprised there was a Cottagecore inspired jelly roll, or any quilt fabric pack in the first place. Normally, the fabric designs I find that are Cottagecore inspired are in colors, styles, and patterns I don’t really like. The TinySpool & Co. jelly roll had…

Tinyspool & Co. Fall Harvest Jelly Roll Fabric Pack
Hi everyone! Like many people, I am very busy this time of the year. November is normally a slower month for me (Except the week leading up to Thanksgiving) but this year I am busy. Along with a major months long organizing project, I am also currently repainting one of the rooms in my house. I am also trying a new diet that requires eating more made-from-stratch foods in order to avoid food allergies. With so many things going on in my life, I don’t have the time like I wish I do to sew, knit, or do anything I normally want to do with my free time. Even though…

Jane Austen at Home by Riley Blake Designs Kits Collection
Hi everyone! For the past few months, things have been very busy for me. Since it was so busy, I wasn’t able to sew nearly as much as I planned to. Instead, I was able to begin some house diy projects! Sadly, nothing is finished enough to show off… nor do I probably want to show off online at all! Instead, I decided to talk about something I started to look into purchasing earlier this year: Quilt kits. Since I’m so busy, I thought purchasing a quilt kit and making it would be more convent than going to a store and picking out the fabric. I still want to return…

Create It Bee Cotton Fabric Strips from Walmart (And Thoughts About Shopping At My Closest Walmart)
Hi everyone! A month or so ago, I had an idea to make a new dress for spring. The plan was to make it out of yellow fabric and decorate the section where the bodice meets the skirt with a quilt pattern appliqué. I couldn’t find the right yellow fabric to make the dress out of, so I didn’t proceed in making it this year. Despite the fabric search setback, I still found some fabric that I wanted to use as the quilt appliqué. Since the dress making delay, I debated if I want to use the fabric to make a quilt or quilt pillow or to keep it until…

Red, White, and Blue Quilt Pillow Case- Quilt Pattern Options
Hi everyone! As I write this post, it looks like I won’t be able to finish making the pillow before the end of Memorial Day weekend. That’s ok though. There have been too many things distracting me from sewing lately! Sadly, after working on everything, I usually become so tired I don’t have the energy to sit down and sew. I hope to start making the pillow case in June. In the mean time, I want to talk about the quilt patterns I am thinking about using to make the pillow case out of. I found a quilt book called Quick-Method Liberty Quilt at Goodwill that gave me inspiration (and…

Red, White, and Blue Quilt Pillow Case- Fabric Choices and The Color Shades
Hi everyone! This weekend is Memorial Day weekend, which is the unofficial start of Summer. I wanted to make a patriotic themed quilt for years, but I never felt ready to do it until this year. Even though I want to make a full sized quilt, I wanted to start with a throw pillow case. Here is the fabric I decided to use for the quilt… Sadly, the photograph is dark and doesn’t show the true shades of the red and blue fabrics. I tried to edit the photograph so it would appear lighter, but it didn’t work well. So, I decided to post the original dark photograph of the…
