Walk Around Main Street in Florence, Arizona- February 17, 2018- North Main Street Part 1
After all these posts, I’m still not done posting the photographs I took of Florence, Arizona on February 17, 2018. I am on the last three posts though, which makes me happy because, even though I am happy with the way these photographs turned out, there are quite a lot of them. Add to it the description writing of each location in the photograph and it takes quite a long time to finish each post! So, knowing there are only three posts left makes me happy.
Anyway, onto the photographs!
Here is the Murphy’s Romance building along with the next door Florence Laundromat…
Like I mentioned in the previous post, the Murphy’s Romance building is now home to an insurance and paralegal business. At one time it was used as a fabric store and before that it was the building that was used in the movie Murphy’s Romance. The tree in front of the building was planted as part of the movie, but it remained in it’s planted place and was alive when I took these photographs. (It was winter when I took these photos, so the tree didn’t have leaves on it)
Right beside it was these two buildings. The Addison’s printing business (Located in the building where the overhang says “Addisons’s”) has since moved and is no longer in the building.
On my side of the street, I saw this door…
and this walk way between two buildings…
which was between two buildings, one of them was the Charles Rapp Saloon…
And finally across the street was this building, which used to be Gentry’s, the local grocery store…
The grocery store closed in the late 2000’s. Beside it and the building Addison’s printing business was this mural and location of the Spur Movie Theater…
The movie theater burned down over twenty five years ago. In it’s place, this wall was built to prevent people from vandalizing the area. When I took these photos, this mural was on the wall. It was painted by a prisoner from the state prison, which is located near the town of Florence. It has since been painted over and now has a different mural on it.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
