Valentine’s Day Fabric from JoAnn’s

Hi everyone! I’ve been doing some major cleaning and reorganizing in my house for the past few years. This has caused me to reassess some of the things I own as well as how much I want to keep them. One of the default things I want to keep are my fabric collection.

Sadly, over the years my fabric collection has become scattered all over the house. I stopped purchasing fabric last year in order to allow myself time to work my way through my collection. So far, I haven’t made much sewing progress. Yet, I haven’t added more fabric to it, which is a good thing.

A few months ago, I discovered a pile of fabric I knew I owned, but didn’t know where I put it. It is a Valentine’s Day themed fabric and I originally purchased it to create a Valentine’s Day inspired dress. After I purchased it and two other fabric pieces, I decided not to move forward with my project. Since then, it has sat in my storage, separated from the rest of my fabric collection.

This is what the fabric looks like…

I really love the fabric designs. They are cute, yet not too flashy with an obvious nod to Valentine’s Day. Even though I love these fabrics so much, I don’t know what to make out of them! I could make a quilt, but I feel conflicted about that. I also considered moving forward with my dress idea, but I really don’t like the idea anymore. It is cute, but too flashy for me anymore. In hind sight, the dress idea made me feel like I was making a Miss Frizzle from The Magic School Bus inspired dress! I’m not a teacher nor do I like to wear her style of clothes, so I don’t know what I was thinking when I purchased the fabric. Still, I’m not going to get rid of either fabric. I just don’t know what I can use them to make!

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
