New McCall’s Costume Sewing Patterns for Spring/Summer 2020
Hi everyone! After talking about the new costume sewing patterns from McCall’s patterns, I wanted to talk about the costume patterns that were new for the Spring and Summer 2020. I didn’t talk about them earlier because I didn’t have the time to write a post. Now that I have some time, I decided to sit down and write one all about the sewing patterns I missed talking about. There are two Angela Clayton designed patterns, two Nancy Farris-Theé designed patterns, and four Yaya Han designed patterns.

Hi everyone! After my last sewing pattern themed post about the new rebranding of The McCall Pattern Company, I wanted to talk about something less investigative: McCall’s has new costume patterns. This collection of sewing patterns include two new Angela Clayton designed patterns, original McCall’s designed patterns, and patterns that are reprints of Butterick patterns. I believe the reprint patterns from Butterick’s line of costumes are part of the rebranding of The McCall Pattern Company and the shifting of patterns between brands. 2020 Renaissance Festival Costume Update- Festival Update and Future Costume Sewing and Blog Plans
On Sunday, March 15, 2020, the Governor of Arizona announced a mandate that required there be no gathering over 50 people within the state of Arizona for eight weeks. This was done to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. This also means the end of the Arizona Renaissance Festival for the year. I am very disappointed, but I understand why this needed to happen and complaining about it won’t help me feel better. But sewing can. The Quest to Find Fabric for a 2020 Renaissance Festival Costume
It’s mid February and that means so many things, including the Arizona Renaissance Festival is open! I plan on going this year, but after years of illness and body weight/shape/size problems, none of my beloved costumes will fit me. I’m in the process of salvaging as many as I can, but to be honest I know I can’t save all of them. Costuming Sewing Plans for 2020
It’s almost 2020 and it’s time to start planning for new sewing projects. I’m not sure what kind of general sewing projects I want to work on, but I already have an idea of what kind of costumes I would like to make. Although I make a costuming sewing plan list every year, I don’t finish anything on my list. Clara’s Cold War Dress- Second Version Part 1
A few years ago, I made my own version of Clara Oswald’s dress in the Doctor Who episode, Cold War. Elizabethan Whovian Hat
It’s been a year since I started working on my Elizabethan Whovian costume. During that time I’ve worked on it on and off, but progress on it has been slow partly because I ran into more problems with the bodice of the dress, and partly because my day job has kept me very busy. Despite this, I was able to work on and off on the hat for the costume. I recently finished most of the hat, so here is how I made it!
