February 2023 Cacti Sunset Photographs
Hi everyone! I’m still going through the photographs I took earlier this year. There was a lot of rain in Arizona, which made the desert really green and pretty! I took many photographs of the desert, which has taken time to sort through and edit. One of the photographs I took in February, 2023 are of a small saguaro cactus and another cactus that I believe are Engelmann’s Hedgehog Cactus (Echinocereus Engelmannii). At that time, the wildflowers hadn’t blossomed yet. This means the desert was green and pretty, but didn’t have any flowers. I didn’t care about this because I wanted to take photographs of the two cacti.

Desert Cactus Photographs January 2023- Part 1
Hi everyone! Back in March, I published posts about desert sunset photographs I took in January. I considered posting all the photographs I took during the month week after week, but I decided not to. Instead, I decided to spread the photographs throughout the year. In January, I knew the desert I like to take photographs of would be changing. I didn’t know how fast it would change, but I knew it would change. So, I decided to search for other areas to photograph that didn’t reflect the changing area. As an experiment, I decided to take photographs of some of the cacti in the area. Cacti are one of…

2022 Ocotillo Blossom Photographs- Part 3
After finding the first ocotillo, I continued my walk until I found another ocotillo in blossom. This ocotillo was not the only one I saw in bloom, but it was the only one I felt comfortable taking photographs of. (Too many new homes and other privacy concerns in the background) The sky was still pretty, so it made a beautiful background for the ocotillo.

2022 Ocotillo Blossom Photographs- Part 2
In my previous ocotillo blossom photography post, I mentioned I will be talking about a second ocotillo I took photographs of during a walk in April 2022. Originally, I planned to make that post part 2, but after looking at the photographs I took of the first ocotillo, I realized I had more photographs of the blossoms than I originally thought! So, here are the rest of the photographs of the blossoms from the first ocotillo I encountered during my walk. I will be talking about the second ocotillo in the next photography post.

2022 Ocotillo Blossom Photographs- Part 1
In late April, I went outside for a walk near my relative’s home. I saw an ocotillo was in full bloom, which made me happy to see. I love seeing them bloom. I wanted to take photographs of the desert for a while, but I never had the chance. Since the ocotillo looked so good, and the sky was very pretty, I decided to take a few photographs of it.

2022 Mesquite Tree Blossoms
While on a walk around my relative’s property, I discovered the mesquite tree was in full bloom. Even though the mesquite trees do not have as “pretty” blossoms as the palo verde trees, I wanted to take photographs of the blossoms. I didn’t have my favorite camera with me at that time, so some of the photographs are not as clear as others I took in the past. Despite this, this I like the way some of the photographs turned out.

Florence-Kelvin Highway Photographs- March 2021 Part 2
In my last post of photographs I took in March 2021 of the Florence- Kelvin Highway, I mentioned that I didn’t take as many photographs of the highway as I did in December 2020. Since I didn’t take as many photographs, most of the photographs I have yet to post are of the same exact subject matter. I really liked the way the clouds looked with the scenery and the road, so the rest of the photographs I took that day are of this. Even though it the photographs may seem repetitive, I’m very happy with the way they turned out.

Florence-Kelvin Highway Photographs- March 2021 Part 1
In March, I went back to the Florence-Kelvin Highway to take some more photographs of the scenery. On the day I went, there were clouds passing by but there was no rain. Because of this, I thought there would be plenty of fluffy clouds to take pictures of. When I got there, I was happy to discover I was right. So, I took some photographs. Unlike the first series of posts I made about the photographs I took of the highway in December 2020, I didn’t take nearly as many photographs on the day I went. I wanted to take my time seeing the scenery while driving on the road…

Arizona Marigold Wildflower Photograph- May 2021
Last month, I went for a casual drive and saw some wild flowers near the side of the road. It’s been hard to find wild flowers this year because of the lack of rain this year, so when I saw a few flowers on my trip, I stopped and took a few photographs. The only wild flower I was able to take a picture of is of a Arizona Marigold… Although I saw other wildflowers on my drive, they weren’t very photogenic. This Marigold looked photogenic, so I focused on taking a picture of it. I took the photographs using my Iphone 6 Plus. I found my Iphone takes…

Florence-Kelvin Highway Photographs- December 2020 Part 5
Hi everyone! This is the last post of the photographs I took during my trip to the Florence-Kelvin Highway in December 2020. In this post, I wanted to share all the photographs I took during the trip but I took before I left the highway and went home. Because of this, there are photographs of a variety of subjects I already posted about such as the crested saguaro, road, and desert with clouds and virga in the background. Also, I took photographs of other cacti near the road.
