Navy Sweater: Progress and Future Armhole Changes
Hi everyone! After taking some time to knit, I made progress making my navy sweater. Despite my issues with the instructions, I finished the neckline, shoulder, armholes, and began to work on the body of the sweater. I feel much better about how the sweater is turning out, so I wanted to show off my progress!

Navy Sweater: Neckline and Pattern Problems
Hi everyone! I wanted to knit myself a new sweater for quite a while, but I never felt comfortable to do it. This year, I finally decided that it was time to actually make myself one! Even though I started with the best of intentions, I ran into many issues with the knitting pattern I used. This caused me to do a lot of research and deep digging in my memory in order to remember how to knit a sweater without a pattern. I was able to figure out what I was doing, but it wasn’t easy. So far, I spent at least a month and half knitting this one…

My New Knitted Dish Cloths and What I Think About them
Hi everyone! I have another finished knitting project to show and talk about! Last year, I decided to knit myself dishcloths. I knitted dish clothes before, but it’s been a while since I did. I knew I would be under a lot of stress in the later half of last year and earlier this year, so I wanted an easy to knit project that comes together fast and allows me to knit while doing something else, such as watch TV. I call myself a stress knitter (I knit to relieve my stress) so I knew knitting dishcloths would be the best project to make when I’m under stress. After using…

Finished Throw Pillow Knitted Test Panel
Hi everyone! After a lot of knitting, I finally finished my throw pillow test panel! I really like the way it turned out. Even though I’m happy with the panel, there are a few things I will change, including the yarn. I’ll talk about that later in this post.

Throw Pillow Knitted Test Panel Progress
Hi everyone! It’s time for another knitting project progress post series! This time, I decided to make a throw pillow cover. I found a vintage knitting pattern on Etsy for a throw pillow cover. I really liked the way it looked, so I purchased it. The cover is created by knitting a front and back to create the cover. Even though the idea caught my eye, I wanted to sew a fabric backing to a knitted front panel. I wasn’t sure if it would work out right, but I wanted to give it a try. In order to see if it would work out the way I thought it would,…

My Finished Hot Water Bottle Cozy- Version 2
Hi everyone! After thinking about how I wanted the hot water bottle cozy to look, I decided to try making it again. This time, I wanted to make the cozy to look good as well as be the right size for the cozy. I still had yarn left from the first two attempts to make hot water bottle cozies, I didn’t need to buy more yarn. So, I began to make version 2.

My Finished Hot Water Bottle Cozy- Version 1
Hi everyone! After the fiasco of using a knitting pattern to make a hot water bottle cozy, I decided to try to invent my own knitting pattern. I felt confident to make one free hand (Without planning out the pattern before I started to knit) so I took the yarn I used to make the original cozy and began to work on it again. This new version, which I call version 1, does fit, but there are things I wanted to change before I was finally satisfied with the way the pattern is. I changed everything I didn’t like for version 2, which ended up turning out so well, it…

The Importance of Taking Hand Breaks While Knitting
Hi everyone! As I write this, I am feeling the effects of knitting too much. Along with my shoulders hurting, my hands are hurting pretty badly. Many years ago, I used to feel hand pain a lot. Since it was so normal, I would push through the pain. Today, I understand the cause of the pain (Inflammation from underlining health issues (Not arthritis) and neurological problems I struggled with my whole life) so I know that I will need to take a break. If a break is something I cannot do (Usually due to work deadlines), I take breaks throughout the day and rest my hands. Right now I have…

Failing to Knit a Hot Water Bottle Cozy (And My Plans to Fix It)
Hi everyone! Months ago, I decided to knit myself new clothes, accessories, and home decor items that I want to use. I already owned items made with knitted fabric, but they are either white or a pale color and not washable. I had serious concerns about them getting dirty, so I decided to knit myself some new items using machine washable yarn and use them instead. One of the first items I wanted to make was a hot water bottle cozy. I found a pattern online for a cozy I liked and began to knit it. From the first time I read the pattern, I had my doubts about how…

Why I’m So Focused on Knitting Right Now
Hi everyone! For the past year or more, I’ve been really focused on improving my knitting skills and get better at reading knitting patterns better. I’ve been knitting for years, but for the past year or more I focused on it more than sewing and any other hobby I have but don’t mention about online. I will start to talk about some of my most recent knitting projects sometime soon, but I wanted to talk about why I’m so focused on knitting right now.
