Desert Saguaro Cactus Sunset Photographs February 2023- Part 2
Hi everyone! A few weeks ago, I published a post about a handful of sunset photographs I took in February 20223. I still have more photographs of a sunset around the same time. I haven’t posted them online yet, so I decided this would be a great time to post them now! I don’t remember the exact day I took these photographs. Yet, I do remember I took them in February 2023. The saguaro cactus in these photographs is my favorite cactus to take sunset photographs of. On this day, the sunset wasn’t as bright and bold as others. Still, I really like how the clouds turned out, with an…

Desert Saguaro Cactus Sunset Photographs February 2023- Part 1
Hi everyone! The 2023 Super Bloom has already come and gone. I miss the beautiful flowers and the rain, yet I don’t miss the allergies and problems trying to travel in the rain! Even though it is gone, I have many photographs I took of the storms and wildflower blooms. I made an effort to go outside and take photographs during this special season. It has paid off a lot, but I haven’t posted as many photographs as I planned to! This summer, I decided to post some more photographs from the Super Bloom. This week’s photography post is of a sunset that happened in February, 2023. It isn’t the…

Red, White, and Blue Quilt Pillow Case- Quilt Pattern Options
Hi everyone! As I write this post, it looks like I won’t be able to finish making the pillow before the end of Memorial Day weekend. That’s ok though. There have been too many things distracting me from sewing lately! Sadly, after working on everything, I usually become so tired I don’t have the energy to sit down and sew. I hope to start making the pillow case in June. In the mean time, I want to talk about the quilt patterns I am thinking about using to make the pillow case out of. I found a quilt book called Quick-Method Liberty Quilt at Goodwill that gave me inspiration (and…

Red, White, and Blue Quilt Pillow Case- Fabric Choices and The Color Shades
Hi everyone! This weekend is Memorial Day weekend, which is the unofficial start of Summer. I wanted to make a patriotic themed quilt for years, but I never felt ready to do it until this year. Even though I want to make a full sized quilt, I wanted to start with a throw pillow case. Here is the fabric I decided to use for the quilt… Sadly, the photograph is dark and doesn’t show the true shades of the red and blue fabrics. I tried to edit the photograph so it would appear lighter, but it didn’t work well. So, I decided to post the original dark photograph of the…

Quinceanera Sketch from a Pexels Stock Photograph Number 2
Hi everyone! It’s time to talk about the second sketch of a photograph I found on Pexels. You can read about the first sketch here. This is what the sketch looks like… Like with the first sketch, this one is rough and unfinished. Even though I like the model’s pose and dress, I like the way the first sketch turned out more. I prefer the way the model’s pose and the photograph I used as a reference. Still, I like the way this sketch as well. I am also planning on finishing the sketch and coloring it digitally. I am planning on doing this to the first sketch, so I…

Desert Cactus Photographs January 2023- Part 2
Hi everyone! Two weeks ago, I published a post about the photographs I took of one of the cacti that lives in the area where I like to take desert photographs. For this post, I decided to share some more photographs of a cactus that also lives in the area, but isn’t a saguaro cactus. The cactus is one I’m not sure what the name is. I believe it is the Engelmann’s Hedgehog Cactus (Echinocereus Engelmannii). It looks just like some of the photographs I found of it and its blooms are the same color as ones I found in photographs online. As of the writing of this post, I don’t want…

Quinceanera Sketch from a Pexels Stock Photograph Number 1
Hi everyone! A few months ago, I decided to sketch some more stock photographs from Pexels. I like to find stock photographs for my lifestyle blog on Pexels, but I also found many photographs I want to sketch as well. On a whim, I decided to search for princess, wedding, or quniceanera photographs I could sketch. In my quniceanera sketch search, I found a series of photographs of a beautiful young woman in a red dress. I really love the way she was photographed, so I decided to sketch some of the photographs. Two of my sketches turned out well, but both are really rough. Yet, I really like the…

Desert Cactus Photographs January 2023- Part 1
Hi everyone! Back in March, I published posts about desert sunset photographs I took in January. I considered posting all the photographs I took during the month week after week, but I decided not to. Instead, I decided to spread the photographs throughout the year. In January, I knew the desert I like to take photographs of would be changing. I didn’t know how fast it would change, but I knew it would change. So, I decided to search for other areas to photograph that didn’t reflect the changing area. As an experiment, I decided to take photographs of some of the cacti in the area. Cacti are one of…

Dress Rough Sketch
Hi everyone! While looking through the same sketch book I found my 2023 self portrait sketches in, (You can read that post here) I also found another sketch. This sketch is a rough sketch of a dress. Here is what the sketch looks like… I honestly don’t remember much about this sketch or the dress that inspired it. I remember I saw a dress (Probably a collectable Disney Princess doll) and felt inspired to sketch it. I don’t remember much else about it. I do know it was done within the past two or three years. Since it is a rough sketch, I never talked about it online. When I…

2022 Self Portrait Sketches
Hi everyone! Last year, I decided I would like to update my profile picture. For many years, my profile picture is a self portrait of myself. I wanted to continue the tradition by drawing a new one. My plan was to draw myself with the same style hair and clothes I always draw myself wearing.
