Recently, I’ve been going through all my photos on Flickr and began the slow process of uploading versions of the photos with my website’s watermark. While going through them, I realized some of the photos I took were not mentioned here on my website’s blog. Because of this, I decided to make posts featuring the photos I took!
Most of this post will be photos with some writing, but I hope you enjoy it anyway. All the photos in this post are linked to the Flickr page with the photo.
Saboten Con 2011, held at the Hilton Squaw Peak Resort, was the last Saboten Con I attended. This was due to the convention moving from Phoenix, Arizona (Which was a distance for me to travel to) to Glendale, Arizona. (Glendale is WAY out of my travel distance unless I have a hotel to stay in) The convention stayed in Glendale for three years until this year, 2015, it will be held in downtown Phoenix very close to where the Phoenix Comicon is held every year.
Of course, like all other hotels I’ve attended conventions at, there was weird carpet….
Despite the weird carpet, I loved the light fixtures and fountains…
Probably the highlight of the convention was to watch the masquerade. I wanted to watch a masquerade ever since my first convention, Saboten Con 2009, but it wasn’t until watching Saboten Con 2011’s masquerade when I wanted to enter a masquerade myself. I still have yet to enter one, but it is something I’ve thought about on and off about ever since.
Some of the cosplayers I saw, and photographed, than I remember from the masquerade was Banzai Productions, who I still follow and admire to this day, and Electric Lady.
That’s all for the photos from Saboten Con 2011! I’m not sure if I’ll keep posting old photos I took at conventions, but don’t be surprised if I do. I haven’t been going anywhere lately that allow me to take photos of really neat things so the only “interesting” photos I have are old ones. I wanted to make more photography posts this year, so this is the best way I could do that.
