2017 End of Year Summary- Art
Hi everyone! Since it’s January, I wanted to write an end of year summary about my art, sewing, and photography. I have many thoughts about my art, sewing, and photography from this year, so I decided to split each topic up into three different posts. Today’s post is about my favorite art from 2017.
Although I did create a lot of art in 2017, it was mostly Spoonflower fabric designs. Some of my favorite designs are of crowns and tiaras. I made coloring (Black and white) versions of the designs…
And colored versions of some of them…
I loved making the crown and tiara designs, but I think I’m going to take a few month off from making more. I noticed I began to get tired of making crown and tiara designs before I finished my last design, so I need some time off making them before I get sick of making them completely.
I also made new design for costume/cosplay purposes. As with most of my other costume/cosplay designs, this one is based off an article of clothing Clara Oswald wears in Doctor Who…
And, because I did this a lot this year with my new designs, I made it available in white and pastel colors…
As for personal art (Art that I did for fun and not with the intention for print or Spoonflower sale), I participated in Inktober on Instagram again. And, like last year, I stopped halfway through the month. The reason why I dropped out this year is because my computer had problems. I like to edit my photographs on my computer before I post them on Instagram, so when my computer goes down I cannot update my Instagram like I want to. Still, I was able to make it halfway through the month which makes me very happy.
Here are my favorite drawings during Inktober…
Besides Inktober, I didn’t do a lot of personal art. Not doing a lot of personal art bothers me more than I’d like to admit. Since I didn’t make very much personal art this year (Or for the past three years), I want to try to make more personal art in 2018. I’d like to try to sketch more and practice drawing things I struggled drawing, such as hands.
As for my Spoonflower designs, I currently do not have any plans for new designs. I think I will make some new designs for 2018, but as of this post I do not have many ideas. So, I’ll need to see what I can come up with next year!
That’s all for now! Thank you so much for reading!
