2017 End of Year Summary- Photography
Hi everyone! In a previous post, I talked about all the art I did in 2017 and shared some of my favorite drawings and Spoonflower designs. For today’s post, I wanted to talk about all the photographs I took in 2017 and share some of my favorite photographs as well!
In 2017 I didn’t travel as much as I wanted to, but I did go to the Arizona Renaissance Festival…
And to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum…
Besides those photos, I took photos of a great horned owl…
Photos of 4th of July fireworks…
And peach blossom photos…
And, finally, desert plant blossoms…
In addition to taking photographs, I created Spoonflower fabric designs based off some of the photographs…
My favorite Spoonflower photograph designs are based off the 4th of July firework photographs.
Looking back on my photography in 2017, I’m very happy with the way the photographs I took in 2017 turned out along with the amount of photographs I took. I did not expect to take as many photographs that I could blog about as I did. I’m not sure if I can continue the trend, mostly because I want to focus on the quality of my photography over the quantity I take, but I hope so!
As for my photography plans for 2018, I plan on experimenting more with black and white photography. I really enjoyed converting my colored photos to black and white in Photoshop, but I want to try experimenting with my camera’s black and white settings to see if the affect will be different than in Photoshop. (It probably will, but it’s fun to give it a try)
I would also like to travel more in 2018, and while I travel I would like to take photos. I felt like I was in a photography rut for a few years now, so this is the perfect chance to get out of my rut and expand my photography skills in new settings.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
