Sewing Plans for November 2024
Hi everyone! I can’t believe it is almost November! This year has been busy for me and has included some high points and low points.
October was no different. Even though I had some major high points and some very unsettling lows, I was able to sew more than I thought I would be. I am happy that I have made progress in some of my quilt projects and already drafted the changes to a sewing pattern I want to use. Even though October was supposed to be a major sewing month for me with even more projects started and finishes, it didn’t turn out to be a complete flop of a month.
As November approaches, I decided to create a new list of sewing plans for the new month. I still want to keep it realistic, so this month’s list will be short.
Vogue Pattern V2004
I mentioned a few months ago (I think?) that I was remaking a dress from Vogue Pattern V2004. I cut out most of the pieces, and then I stopped. I still need to make the enlarged patterns for the sleeves and the waist band. Then I’ll be ready to cut them out and sew them. I’m not sure if I will be able to sew and finish the dress in November, but I am hoping to make the patterns and cut out the pieces before the end of the month.
Christmas Pajamas
Earlier this month, I decided to switch patterns for my Christmas pajamas to a Simplicity pattern. I already created the patterns for any size or style changes I wanted to make and am ready to cut the fabric.
Regular Pajamas
I’m planning on making a “normal” pajama set for other times of the year. I will be making them out of lighter fabric than the Christmas pajamas. (Cotton sateen instead of flannel) I also will be making long pants and shorts to go with the set. I’m debating if I should make a long sleeve pajama shirt or just stick with a short sleeve shirt. It depends on how much fabric I have to work with.
Continue Working on Quilts
Work on my quilts continue. I decided to make a quilt for my relative, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to make it. I kind of know what quilt block I want to make using the fabric I purchased, but I’m not convinced enough to actually make it. I also found some quilt panel fabric that I wanted to sew but never did as well as other fabric for winter quilts. With the discovery of all these quilt fabrics, I feel pretty overwhelmed by the amount of quilts I will be making this month. I want to make some more clothes, but I’m not sure if I will have time now. As for the other quilts I talked about making earlier this month, they are coming together really nicely. All the panels for the turquoise and grey quilt and blue and yellow quilt are finished. Now I need to sew them together, back them, quilt them, sew binding to the edges, and then they’ll be done. I plan on taking about how I made them and thoughts about them when spring and summer comes next year.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading1
