A Post About Indi Sewing Patterns and Why I Like Them So Much
Hi everyone! I am the proud owner of many (Probably too many) sewing patterns. I amassed my collection over the years and am very happy with my collection. Since 2020, I began to shift my attention away from commercial patterns from the big 4 pattern companies to smaller Indi brand pattern companies I found on Etsy.
I have used some of the Indi brand patterns before, but I don’t talk about them online. To be honest, I really love the Indi brand patterns. Their styles are on trend, yet unique. They can also come in a very large variety of sizes, which I love. I am borderline plus size in standard sized clothes (I have too many curves and like my clothes to be less form fitting.) so to find trendy sewing patterns available to purchase in plus sizes makes me very happy.
Most of the time the patterns I purchase are from Etsy and are digital downloads. Even though I know of Indi pattern companies that don’t sell on Etsy, I have been buying them from Etsy out of convince and due to a lack of time to search the internet for new companies to purchase from.
So far I’m pretty happy with the patterns I purchased. The patterns are mostly dresses because I need to own more dresses. The pattern pieces fit together really well and are easier to make than other commercial patterns I made. I also like the instructions more on many of the patterns. On the ones I don’t, I can figure out how to make them easier than the commercial patterns. Finally, I love the fact shopping for these patterns are supporting small businesses!
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
