  • Beach Scene Quilt Panels (And Some Potential Future Plans for Them)

    June 30, 2025 /

Hi everyone! After the problems with my turquoise and grey log cabin quilt, I decided to take a break from sewing for a while. Even though I’m on a break from sewing, I decided to clean out parts of my house. This is when I found more fabric. Some of the fabric was not longer good fabric (It was faux leather and was deteriorating) there were many pieces that were good. I decided to sort through them and see which ones I wanted to make or give away. This is when I found quilt panels I purchased a few years ago to hang on my walls. The panels are of…

    March 15, 2024 /

Hi everyone! This weekend is St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Even though I probably won’t do much to celebrate St Patrick’s Day (I don’t drink what-so-ever), I will be indulging in listening to Celtic music. Something I am thinking about this year is what to do with two pieces of St. Patrick’s Day inspired fabric. I purchased then the same time as the Valentine’s Day fabric I talked about in a different post. (You can read it here) I found both holiday fabric during a recent clean out of my things. I like the St. Patrick’s Day fabric a lot, so I decided to talk about it in a post.

Hi everyone! I’ve been doing some major cleaning and reorganizing in my house for the past few years. This has caused me to reassess some of the things I own as well as how much I want to keep them. One of the default things I want to keep are my fabric collection. Sadly, over the years my fabric collection has become scattered all over the house. I stopped purchasing fabric last year in order to allow myself time to work my way through my collection. So far, I haven’t made much sewing progress. Yet, I haven’t added more fabric to it, which is a good thing. A few months…

    February 8, 2024 /

Hi everyone! The Chinese New Year is this Saturday. This year will be the year of the dragon. I was born in the year of the dragon. I usually don’t celebrate Chinese New Year (Especially because I’m not Chinese), but since this is the year with the same animal I was born in, I wanted to celebrate this new year! I don’t have many dragon inspired things to talk about on this blog, but I recently found something I thought would make for a great post! Many years ago, (AKA the 2000’s) I decided to purchase a collection of fabric panels and wanted to make a quilt. I never did…

    November 14, 2023 /

Hi everyone! Last week, I talked about the Fall Harvest jelly roll fabric pack by Tinyspool & Co. I also mentioned it is not the only jelly roll fabric pack I purchased by the company. I also purchased a jelly roll fabric pack in the Cottagecore color way. I found the Cottagecore jelly roll on Amazon before I saw the Fall Harvest pack. I was really surprised there was a Cottagecore inspired jelly roll, or any quilt fabric pack in the first place. Normally, the fabric designs I find that are Cottagecore inspired are in colors, styles, and patterns I don’t really like. The TinySpool & Co. jelly roll had…

Hi everyone! Like many people, I am very busy this time of the year. November is normally a slower month for me (Except the week leading up to Thanksgiving) but this year I am busy. Along with a major months long organizing project, I am also currently repainting one of the rooms in my house. I am also trying a new diet that requires eating more made-from-stratch foods in order to avoid food allergies. With so many things going on in my life, I don’t have the time like I wish I do to sew, knit, or do anything I normally want to do with my free time. Even though…

Hi everyone! As I write this post, I’m in the process of doing a major clean out of all the things I own. Some of the things I own are not things I need anymore or it is not in good shape. It takes a while to sort through everything, but I am making progress! The most recent discovery I made are fabric I purchased years ago, but never used. Some of them are more recent purchased (Within the last year). Since I’m so focused on cleaning instead of sewing, I decided to write posts about the fabric, and other various things I find that would make a great post…

  • Create It Bee Cotton Fabric Strips from Walmart (And Thoughts About Shopping At My Closest Walmart)

    July 3, 2023 /

Hi everyone! A month or so ago, I had an idea to make a new dress for spring. The plan was to make it out of yellow fabric and decorate the section where the bodice meets the skirt with a quilt pattern appliqué. I couldn’t find the right yellow fabric to make the dress out of, so I didn’t proceed in making it this year. Despite the fabric search setback, I still found some fabric that I wanted to use as the quilt appliqué. Since the dress making delay, I debated if I want to use the fabric to make a quilt or quilt pillow or to keep it until…

  • Red, White, and Blue Quilt Pillow Case- Fabric Choices and The Color Shades

    May 23, 2023 /

Hi everyone! This weekend is Memorial Day weekend, which is the unofficial start of Summer. I wanted to make a patriotic themed quilt for years, but I never felt ready to do it until this year. Even though I want to make a full sized quilt, I wanted to start with a throw pillow case. Here is the fabric I decided to use for the quilt… Sadly, the photograph is dark and doesn’t show the true shades of the red and blue fabrics. I tried to edit the photograph so it would appear lighter, but it didn’t work well. So, I decided to post the original dark photograph of the…

  • Strawberry Tulle Fabric at JoAnn Fabric and Craft Store

    March 23, 2023 /

Hi everyone! A few weeks ago, I went to JoAnn Fabric and Craft store for fabric and new sewing patterns. While shopping around, I found a bolt of tulle fabric with strawberries on it. I thought about if I should purchase it, but I ended up not. (I had other sewing projects I wanted to purchase fabric for instead) Even though I didn’t purchase the fabric, I liked it a lot and reminded me a lot of the Strawberry Dress that went viral a few years ago. I decided to write a post about the fabric, it’s cost, and anything else I felt of noteworthiness about it.
