October 2025 iPhone Sunset Photographs- Part 1

Advertisements

Hi everyone! In October 2025, I decided to try to use my iPhone to take some photographs of a sunset and the desert. Prior to this, I was using my iPhone for a few months to take photographs of nature. I did this just to know the difference between my camera (A Cannon Rebel T7) and my iPhone. (I already knew my camera was (And still is) better at taking photographs, but I still wanted to take pictures and compare them in new editing software I was thinking of using)

On this day, I decided to use the iPhone to take picture and not my camera as well. After editing them, I liked the way the photographs turned out. So, I decided to share what they look like in two posts. One post will have photographs facing a saguaro cactus with the setting sun in the background and the second will be of the cactus and desert during golden hour. For this post, I will be focusing on the photographs of the saguaro cactus with the setting sun in the background.

Here are the photographs…

To be honest, the iPhone’s photographs picked up more of the desert in the foreground than my camera does. I really like how the faint traces of the desert plants around the saguaro are still slightly visible in the photographs. Usually with my camera and the way I like to have it’s settings, the foreground desert is much darker. Whenever I edit my photographs from my camera, the desert completely disappears into the dark foreground.

Even though I like the iPhone and how it picked up the surrounding desert, I still prefer my camera. The iPhone photographs are blurry. When I used the new photo editing software I was trying out, I noticed it didn’t sharpen the iPhone photographs really well. I don’t have that problem with my camera’s photographs.
