An Update on the McCall’s M8029 Sew With Me Video- Current Plans and Where the New Video Is
Last year, I published a post about a video I posted on YouTube. The video was about how I made McCall’s pattern M8029. It wasn’t well received because it didn’t have a lot of details on how to sew the pattern. Even though I changed the title to say it wasn’t a tutorial, it still wasn’t well liked. So, I decided to take it down and planned on making a new video.
It’s been over a year since I did this, but I haven’t uploaded a new video. I thought I would be able to release a new video about the pattern, but I didn’t.
Since the video is taking so long, I wanted to talk about what’s going on in a post.
So, there are many reasons why I didn’t make a video. Even though I could list all the reasons why the video is delayed, I wanted to focus on the two most important ones.
The first reason is that the house I live in needed some improvements. These improvements include installing new windows, new lights, and other important improvements. The improvements where all over the house, which is why I needed to focus on moving things around the house to make room for the next round of work. After moving everything around constantly, leaving things in disarray, I didn’t have the room to film videos.
The second reason is because I was also decluttering things at the same time. This included fabric I owned. I have fabric reserved for the cape M8029 creates, which I didn’t get rid of. Yet, things were still really disorganized and crazy. Actually, things still are really disorganized and crazy.
Even though I had big plans to revive my YouTube channel last year, starting with a new video of how to sew M8029. Yet, I had to postpone it because the house needed work more than my YouTube channel needed a new video. I’m very disappointed I couldn’t do both and I feel like I let down all the sewers who want help making the pattern, but can’t find the information they need anywhere. If you are one of those people and were depending on me to deliver a new video, I’m very sorry about the delays and lack of updates about the video.
Since things have taken so long, and I’m not sure if I should continue to work on a video anymore. I still want to make a new cape for myself, but I don’t really want to focus on making one for a video. Right now I’m trying to figure out if there is a way I can sew my cape without worrying about the right angles for filming. It could be possible, but I’m not sure if it will work. I think I will need to test my ideas to see if they will work and will show how I sewed the cape better than the original video did.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
