A Few Software Setbacks for My Planned Posts

Hi everyone! I have so bad news: My photo editing software I use for blogging is no longer working.

I normally use Photoshop Elements for editing my photos for posts. For many years, it has been the most reliable and dependable photo editing software that I could purchase and own a copy of. Since I love it so much, I decided to purchase a copy for my then-new Apple laptop.

For several years, the software has been glitching on me. I was always able to work around it, but it made me wonder if I should be relying on other photo editing software for blog and social media posts. A few weeks ago, I updated my laptop’s software. Once the update was complete, my copy of Photoshop Elements no longer works on my computer.

To be honest, I feel conflicted. On the one hand, I’m pretty angry and upset. I planned on editing photos of my recent knitting projects and how they turned out. Now, I can’t. On the other hand, I had a nagging feeling that I needed to start looking for new photo editing software. I didn’t, so I’m stuck.

Right now I am trying out other programs. The one I’m using the most is Canva. I have scoffed (offline) at Canva and certain tools and functions (And lack there of for the free version). Now that I’m forced to use Canva for the editing of my photographs, I’m annoyed. Yet, Canva has been surprisingly helpful for blog post photo editing. I want to try other photo editing software just to see what I like and don’t like, but so far Canva has been the easiest to use for posts.

Even though I have a software I can use to edit blog photos, I still need time to edit them. So, knitting and all other posts will be postponed until then. I still have some already edited photos of fabric I plan on using for quilts and other sewing projects. Until I finish editing photos, I will be publishing the fabric posts. I don’t think many people will find them enjoyable, but it is the best I can do for a while. As for my other blog, The Estella Initiative, I already have enough photographs for posts to last me a while. The problem effects this blog the most.
