Decluttering My Synthetic Fiber Yarns and My Future Using Synthetic Fiber Yarns
Hi everyone! Over the years, I’ve been slowly decluttering my things. I needed to take time to decide which things I want to keep and which ones I don’t. Some things have been easy while others have not. Recently, I’ve been trying to declutter my sewing and crafting supplies.
My most recent declutter is my knitting supplies. I have a lot of yarn, but I haven’t used them for any of the knitting projects I had planned. After months of thinking about what to do, I decided to finally get rid of most of my synthetic yarns.
It’s been hard to decide what to do with the yarns. I like to use them as scrap yarn or for practice, but I have too many skeins of this yarn. I purchased most of them to make clothing for myself out of, not for scraps.
Although I purchased them with the intentions of creating clothing for myself, my health, and my clothing needs, have changed. Over the past few years, my allergies and skin problems have made it hard to wear clothing made out of anything but natural fibers. It has been something I keep resisting, but for the past few months I have grown to accept it.
This is why I decided to get rid of most of my synthetic fibers. My allergies and skin problems are not going away. They’ve been with me since I was a girl. In order to keep them under control, I need to wear natural fiber clothing. So, the synthetic fiber yarns have to go.
I’m not going to lie, I’m really upset about this. I worked hard to track down these yarns and even make my clothing and winter accessories out of them. As you can imagine, I have money tied up in them. I was also holding off purchasing clothing and pre made winter accessories in the hope of making my own using the yarn. Now that I can’t use these yarns anymore, I need to figure out what to do next. Do I make my own clothes, this time with natural fiber yarns, or do I buy them premade? It’s something I need to figure out before the end of summer. That way I can decide what is the most important clothing and accessories to make and buy the yarn of them. I also need time to build up my savings so I can purchase these yarns, which are more expensive than synthetic ones.
That being said, I’m not getting rid of all my synthetic yarns. I am keeping some of the higher quality ones to make whatever I originally planned on making with them. Even though I have allergies and skin problems, I can still wear synthetic fibers. They just need to be a higher quality yarn and needs to be blended with a natural fiber yarn. I originally planned on making clothing and accessories out of higher quality synthetic yarn and cotton yarn, so I can move forward with those projects.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
