Summer Solstice 2023 Desert Sunset Photographs Part 1

Hi everyone! Last week was the Summer Solstice, AKA the first day of summer! It wasn’t as hot as it normally would be this time of year. It was a really nice change of pace for anyone living in Arizona!

Despite the lack of the normal temperatures, it was still hot outside. The temperatures forced me to say inside most of the day. This is why I was so surprised when I looked outside my window at sunset and saw a beautiful sunset sky! After debating if I should or shouldn’t go outside, I decided to grab my camera and headed to my relative’s property to photograph the sunset.

I took many photographs of the sunset, so I decided to split up the photographs into three different posts. Part one of these posts features photographs of my favorite saguaro cactus to photograph.

Since I took these photographs after the sun went down, the lighting is different than what I normally like to photograph. This also changed the way the photographs edited. When I took these pictures, the lighting was good enough to walk around, but it was also becoming visibly darker. Photographs turned out to have the foreground darker than the background. I don’t mind this at all since I love how the sky looked that day.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
