Planning for the 2020 12 Days of Christmas Sewing

It’s August, but I’m already planning for new Christmas themed sewing projects. This year, in an attempt to add more sewing YouTube videos to my channel, and hopefully gain more subscribers, I decided to do a themed video series. I decided this December to do a video series I’m calling 12 Days of Christmas Sewing. Each video will have Christmas themed sewing videos for 12 days straight.

Although the sewing projects are Christmas themed, I planned to make the videos on a variety of sewing projects that can be used during the Christmas and New Year season. The projects I plant to make vary from decorations, gifts, and clothing I want to wear during the season. Since sewing and finishing the videos takes time, I wanted to get a head start on sewing them.

So far I’ve collected supplies to make a Christmas tree skirt, ornaments, a gift, and one, possibly two, holiday dresses if I like the fabric I bought for the second one. I have the sewing patterns picked out and I’m already working on planning ahead to buy the fabric and supplies I will need to make enough sewing projects for 12 videos.

I am worried I won’t be able to make 12 videos in time for Christmas, but I’m determined to do it. The reason why I want to make so many Christmas themed things is because I need them. I don’t have a Christmas tree skirt in the colors, or in the fabric quality, I want. I need a new holiday dress and I want to make myself some new ornaments. And, of course, I want to make someone a present. Because I already planned to make everything, I decided to make videos showing how I made them and why. Still, I’m worried I won’t be able to finish everything before December 25th because I recently experienced flare ups of heath problems that are actually complications and are part of the healing processes my body is going as I recover from an antibiotic resistant infection.

Another worry that I will not be able to make 12 sewing projects and YouTube videos that has popped up recently is about my computer. It has begun to act up again recently and now it’s becoming more and more fickle. It’s not bad enough to switch to a different computer, but I know the day is coming when I will need to. If this is the case, it will cause me to slow down my video editing productivity dramatically.

Well, I have a lot of worried and obstacles to overcome as I work on my new projects. I plan to write posts about my sewing projects and what problems I will encounter while working on them… and how my computer is doing as I edit videos.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
