Sewing Break/Life Update-July 2019
Hi everyone! A few months ago, I took a break from blogging on this blog. This was not intentional and had to do with life stuff that ranged from a family illness (Or three), preparing for a move to another city, my own health problems, and a very busy work life. I would like to talk about what’s going on in my life in another post, but for now I wanted to talk about my unintentional sewing break.
If you followed my blog for a while, you know I sew a lot. I slowed down sewing a few years ago because of the death of a family member and health problems connected to a chronic illness I used to suffer from. At that time, my doctor discovered a potential cure for my illness and, after the treatment, I’m cured. Although my illness was a chronic illness, I knew there would be a day when I would be cured. I just didn’t know when. I’m so happy to have my health back, but I didn’t have the energy to keep sewing as much as I wanted to.
As I became busier in my day job, I had less time to sew as much. Also, because I’m healthy again, I became more active and decided to see more places and do more things than I used to. I always planned to do this once my health came back, but I didn’t realized how working, traveling, and seeing my friends would distract me from sewing so much! Once May of this year rolled around, I realized I didn’t sew anything on my to-sew list this year. I planned to start sewing more in June, but I was diagnosed with tendonitis in my right hand in June which resulted in me taking even more time off sewing.
I have recovered from the tendonitis and am currently planning on working on new clothes and even a new costume later this year. I’m not sure when I’ll get everything done, but I have a rough time schedule laid out for when I would like to complete each project.
So, that’s about it. I hope this explained why I don’t post as much sewing as I used to. There are other sewing projects I never talked about here on this blog (Or on my YouTube channel) that I plan on doing someday soon.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
