New Dress Form!

Lately I’ve been awfully busy with normal, daily life stuff so I didn’t have the time to draw or sew as much as I’d like to. I’m still working on things, but it will take more time to finish and write posts than I anticipated. In order to fill the space between posts, I’ll talk about my new dress form!

I wanted a new dress form for a few years. I got my original dress form to help me drape skirts and such, but after the growth spurts I’ve had the past few years I realized I needed an adjustable dress form so I can continue to adjust it as my body “adjusts”.

Since I’m so frugal it can hurt, it took me a while to find a dress form that I was comfortable spending my money on. I found a Singer adjustable dress form for $80-ish USD on amazon. That was in my price range, so I bought it.

Here’s what it looks like…

I’m still playing with it, trying to figure out how to use it, what the sizes are, how to change the sizes, ect. I think my favorite part of the dress form is the clip near the bottom. According to the instruction book, that’s supposed to help with marking hems. I’ve always had trouble marking the length of skirts and keeping it straight, but I’ve been fortunate to have hem problems in clothing I’m supposed to wear and not for others. I hope this tool will assist me in the future. 🙂

That’s all for now!
