Simplicity’s USA 250 Sewing Patterns
Hi everyone! This year (2026) is the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. There are a lot of ways to celebrate the semiquincentennial, including making things. If you are interested in sewing something, you’re in luck because Simplicity has released three sewing patterns for the 250th anniversary! The three sewing patterns include a pattern for flags and appliqués while the other two are rereleases of costume patterns from the bicentennial pattern collection in 1976. All the images of the patterns and information used in this post is from each of the pattern listings on simplicity.com. This post is not sponsored.

In addition to the photographs, I also recorded video of the firework show. I’m not sure if I’ll post that online, mostly because I was not very close to the firework show so the video is not as nice as I hoped it would be, but if…

4th of July 2017 Firework Photos
The 4th of July has come and gone, but I still wanted to share the photos I took of the local fireworks. I wanted to try to take photos of the fireworks last year, but that ended up being a dud because my old Sony camera malfunctioned so badly it wouldn’t focus on anything. This year, I have my new Cannon so I decided to try to take photos of the fireworks and see how good the zoom works at night. Some of the photos didn’t look really great, but I did get a few really nice ones! Overall, I’m very pleased with the way these photos turned out. I’m…
