The Navy and Yellow Log Cabin Quilt- The Finished Blocks and The Final Layout

Hi everyone! It’s time for another quilt post! In this post, I’m going to show what the finished blocks for the navy and yellow log cabin quilt look like as well as what the final layout of the blocks look like!

First, here are what the blocks look like…

Sadly, this is the only photograph I can find of the blocks. This photograph is actually of the three remaining quilt blocks left over from sewing the quilt. I’ll talk more about them in the next navy and yellow quilt post. Still, you can see what the blocks looked like individually.

I liked the way the blocks turned out, but I felt concerned about the dark navy polka dot fabric. I felt it was a little too dark and may mess with the way the books look like when sewn together. Still, I decided to not change the color and worked with the blocks as is.

Anyway, I decided to layout the blocks to see what they look like in two different layouts. This is the first layout, which is the layout the pattern I was using suggested to use…

And this is one of the other block layouts I like to experiment with, but never end up using…

Like with the turquoise and grey quilt, I decided to use the first layout.

In the next navy and yellow quilt post, I’ll show what the finished top looks like and I’ll talk about what I did to make the blocks sew together more accurately.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
