The Navy and Yellow Log Cabin Quilt- The Cut Strips and Block Sewing Progress
Hi everyone! It’s time to talk about a new quilt!
Earlier this year, I began to work on another log cabin quilt using navy (Or blue depending on the fabric) and yellow fabric. I talked about this fabric in a previous post here. As of the publishing of this post, the blocks are finished, the quilting is finished, and the binding is finished.
Like with my Turquoise and Grey quilt, I was worried about problems I would run into while making it. Unlike the Turquoise and Grey quilt, the Navy and Yellow quilt had a major problem. Explaining what happened and how I fixed it will take some time to explain in a blog post, so I decided to save discussing it for my next quilt post. However, for this post, I will be talking about the fabric and making the blocks.
EDIT: I used two different watermarks in these photographs. One is for this blog, essieofwho.com, while the other one has the watermark I use for my second blog, theestellainitiative.com. Since I published this post with both blog watermarks, I decided to keep the improperly watermarked photographs as is. I’m sorry for any confusion this may have caused!
The pattern I’m using to make this quilt is the same pattern I used for my Turquoise and Grey quilt: The Log Cabin Quilt Pattern from Scrapish.com. I really liked how simple it is and how well the Turquoise and Grey quilt turned out. So, I decided to use it for this quilt.
Here are all the fabric strips I cut for the quilt…

And here is what the quilt blocks used to look like while I worked on them…

It was shortly after I finished the yellow section of the quilt that I ran into a problem with my quilt. I’ll talk about that in my next quilt post.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
