Sewing Update for March 2025- Quilts, Sizing a Sewing Pattern, and Staring at a Lot of Fabric in Frustration
Hi everyone! I know it’s been a while since I published a post on this blog, but March did not turn out the way I planned. I thought I would have time to work on a lot of things around my house, but I ended up not. Among the many things that distracted me are unforeseen problems including my vehicle breaking down. So, even though I stayed home a lot, I was too distracted by other things to care about my to-do list.
One of the things I failed to do is tackle my to-sew list. I needed to start working on my sewing list in order to clear out fabric. Sadly, the only major sewing project I was able to work on and finish is a quilt made out of scrap fabric. I also was able to size a sewing pattern I was working on. Other than that I stared frustratingly at my embarrassing large amount of fabric I need to use up.
The quilt I finished I made was a yellow and blue quilt. The fabric are scraps left over from my log cabin quilt that I made using the fabric. I mentioned this quilt and the fabric in this previous post. In that post I called it a yellow and navy quilt, but I ended up changing some of the fabric to avoid problems with fabrics in similar colors. It is now done, except for the actual quilting and binding the edges.
I’m really glad I was able to finish this quilt! I was sick and tired of walking by it all the time and seeing all the scraps unsewn together!
As for the sewing pattern, I really liked a certain dress pattern and wanted to make it for spring. Sadly, the dress didn’t fit right. So, I decided to take apart the dress and reuse all the old pieces I can use in a new dress. The plan was to have this new dress finished by the end of March. Sadly, it never happened. Instead, I was able to finish sizing the pattern.
Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
