Trying Tailors’ Chalk from Amazon

Recently, I decided to try to mark my fabric more thoroughly after cutting it and before I sewed the pieces together. Although I already own water soluble markers that work very well, but I didn’t have tailor’s chalk. I owned a tailors’ lining pen, but never chalk.

After searching for tailors’ chalk as the closets Joann’s and not liking the selection or the prices, I began to search Amazon for a set. After searching, I finally settled on the Ogrmar 10 piece tailors’ chalk, which can be found here.

Here is what the box looks like…

The chalk came in a box with corrugated cardboard between each piece of chalk and around the area the chalk sits in…

The chalk is triangular and comes in four different colors: Red, yellow, white, and blue…

And here is what the chalk lines look like on a piece of white cotton…

And finally, repeated use of the chalk will wear down the edges of chalk. It will go from looking like this…

To looking like this…

After playing around with the chalk, I realized how much nicer using this chalk is than using a washable pen. The chalk wears, and washes, away, leaving no trace of it or the markings it was used to make. I really like this chalk and think it is a good bulk option for anyone who sews a lot or wants a larger color selection to use over many years than buying one color at a time. Also, the price I bought it for is about three dollars more than what I would’ve paid for at Joann’s, but there much more chalk in this set. I recommend this set to anyone looking for a different option than buying at at store. All the chalks arrived in the mail without breaks (Something I was worried about), making it a really great buy. I’m looking forward to using the chalk to make my future sewing projects.

Well, that’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
