Searching for a New Video Editing Software: What I Decided to Use and Why

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I wrote a post about my search for a new video editing software. I seriously believe I have found my editing softwares! Yes, you read that right. I plan on using more than one software.

So, here’s what is going on…

In my previous post about my search for a new video software, (You can read it here) I mentioned that I decided to switch from Wondershare Filmora to a different software. There are reasons why I decided on this, but it was mostly due to the fact I need to pay money per month to use the software. Since I don’t use it all the time, I felt like it would be a waste of money to pay each month for using the program even if I don’t use it. So, I decided to search for a new software to use instead.

Since I wrote the post, I feel confident that I found my video editing software. The thing is I decided, for now, to use two video editing softwares. The first one is iMovies. I own an Apple computer so iMovies came with my computer. I like it, but there are several things I really don’t like. One of the things I don’t like is the magnetic timeline. I also don’t like how limiting it is to edit video titles. So, I decided to add a second software.

The second software is DaVinci Resolve. I used Resolve before and remember how to use it… sort of. It is quite a complicated video editing software, but that is why I like it so much. There are so many things I can use it for, including editing video titles. Yet, I don’t like the way it edits color contrast. On the other hand, I like the way iMovies edits color contrast. Since the two softwares contain elements I want to use, I decided to try to switch between the two.

Right now I’m experimenting to see how each program works and how to use them together. So far things are going well, but I’m not ready to post any videos yet.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
