Restarting Work on the Pink and Green Log Cabin Quilt

Hi everyone! I finally decided to restart working on the pink and green log cabin quilt. I stopped working on it last year (I think?!) because I had problems making the blocks fit together. After taking so much time off, and walking by it every day since I put it down, I decided to pick it back up and start working on it again.

I decided to start working on it for two reasons: The first is because I’m planning on working on two more log cabin quilts and want to finish this one before I work on them. The second is because I’m just tired of waking by it every day and feeling sad I never finished it!

So far I ripped the seams of almost all the blocks I sewed together. There were a few that fit together really well, so I kept them together. I am trying to assemble the blocks together in a different way that I did before. I’m not sure if it will help, but it does look promising. So far I have three large blocks made up of four normal sized blocks each. After pinning them together to test how they fit, they fit really well! Sadly the quilt will not fit perfectly because I didn’t sew the fabric strips together precise enough. Even though they will never fit perfectly, I know what I did wrong and will be fixing it for my two future quilts. Also, even though the blocks don’t fit right, they also don’t look bad or really obvious. I just shouldn’t give this quilt as a gift or enter it into a quilt competition!

That’s all for now! Thant you for reading!
