The Turquoise and Grey Log Cabin Quilt- Cutting the Strips and Beginning to Sew the Blocks

Hi everyone! It’s time to talk about sewing my turquoise and grey log cabin quilt! As of the publishing of this post, I have already finished the top of the quilt and is now waiting to be quilted. Yet, I haven’t talked about sewing it here on this blog. I decided to hold off talking about it until I finished the top. I didn’t know how long it would take to make the quilt, which is also why I decided to hold off talking about it.

I already talked about making a log cabin quilt out of turquoise and grey fabric in a previous post. You can read it here.

I decided to use the Log Cabin Quilt pattern from Scrapish.com. I liked it because it used less colors than the other log cabin quilt pattern I used for my Pink and Green quilt. It was also free!

The pattern calls for cutting the strips of fabric into 2 1/2 inch wide strips. Once I was finished cutting them, they looked like this…

I really love the way the colors of this quilt look together!

After I admired the way the colors looked together (And took some time off to work on other things) I cut the center fabric into it’s 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch square shape. After that, I began to sew the strips together the way the pattern calls for.

After some work, the block began to take shape…

Even though this happened months ago, I am still very happy with the colors of this quilt and how well everything came together. The blocks came together faster than I thought they would be, so there isn’t much to talk about when it comes to assembling the blocks.

That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
